Meet the Author

When Kathy-jo Wargin was a young girl, each night after dinner, her mother let her choose between washing the dishes or writing a poem. Before long, she decided that if she grew up to be a writer, she wouldn't have to do any dishes. She has since learned that even though she has published more than twenty award-winning books for children, she still has to wash the dishes. Kathy-jo lives in Minnesota with her husband and her son. Awesome way to teach the alphabet to your child!

    My Review

F is for Fireflies teaches young readers the alphabet using summertime items and activities.
Some examples are: D is for Daisy; J is for Jump rope; V is for Vacation. Each letter has its own beautiful color page and a word that starts with the letter and there is a little verse that goes along with the word. And throughout the book the young reader not only learns their alphabet they learn special things about God as well.
    An example is:
    I is for Inchworm
    We spy an Inchworm,
    a friend to be treasured.
    Each step reminds us
    God's love can't be measured.

What an awesome book for children. It is well constructed for the age group using colors that will capture young reader's attention. The illustrations are adorable. I love the children and the animals, especially their precious faces. The font is perfect for a child's book, and I love the shinny finish of the cover. Overall, I can't say enough about the beauty and awesomeness of this precious little book. I love everything about it! My 2 year old niece fell in love with it and she brings it for me to read to her several times a day!

F is for Fireflies will make a wonderful addition to any library and would be a fun and colorful way to help teach children who are home schooled.

I received this book free from Zondervan to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 55.
