On his website, chef Fabio Viviani claims that the 100 recipes in this cookbook are just a bonus, but eager home cooks are certain to disagree. It's true that Fabio's Italian Kitchen contains generous helpings of stories about the Chow Ciao star's Florence childhood and cooking apprenticeship, but the offerings (many of which were culled from a 300-year-old family cookbook) stand on their own. Viviani's delineation of regional Italian cooking styles gains full resonance with representative recipes. A most attractive illustrated Italian cookbook.
