Gloria Loughman began making large landscape quilts for the Australian bush after completing her studies in art and design in 1996. In Fabulous Facades, she explores how to create graphic quilts that resemble woodblocks and linocuts in a change of direction inspired by her daughter's study of architecture and her husband's photos of buildings. Each main shape is outlined with fine dark lines adding strength to the composition in a series of projects that include doorways, skyscrapers and even a cargo ship and camper van.
