Overview

After losing her mother in a tragic accident, Allison Banks takes on the sole responsibility of caring for her little sister, her young niece, and her disabled grandmother. When her long-term boyfriend walks out, offering little in the way of explanation, Allison is left totally confused and utterly heartbroken. To cope, the 24-year-old closes herself off to any serious relationships and dives into her work as a graduate student.

Needing the extra income, Allison takes a job for the hot, new, reality TV show, Superstardom. Captivated by the competition’s front-runner, the mysterious and sexy singer, Chris Knots, Allison dismisses her attraction as nothing more than a silly, school-girl crush. But, when the hunky performer reveals an interest of his own, Allison must work through her reservations and decide if there’s room in her life for something more.

Face the Music by Andrea Robbins is a terrific read.
I loved the combination of a successful reality TV show, Superstardom, intertwined in a romance plot. Made this a real page turner.
Chris, is an up and coming heart throb, red hot favourite singing contestant with the media attention watching his every move, while Allison, is a teacher hired to tutor the younger contestants. Both are in the business, but worlds apart in their real life. Their immediate attraction had me absorbed while

I really enjoyed this book and what was crazy is that it was free??? I picked it on Smashwords during the Author's free promotion. I read it in less than 24 hours it was that thought provoking. The work speaks for itself. It's a refreshing love story of self-discovery. Grad student Allie has a lot to deal with. She is one of three family members that she has left. She's lost her mother to tragedy and her grandmother to old age. All that's left is her baby sister and her daughter.

She's struggling to go to grad school and survive when she takes a job as teacher to 18 and under kids on a pop television show called "Superstars." It's American Idol with an awesome twist. In comes Chris one of the shows top contenders. He's 27, gorgeous, and sex on legs!! Think Chris Daughtry here, but even hotter. He comes into her life and sweeps her away. She has to decide if she's ready to deal with his celebrity, all while at the same time, battling being hurt from a previous relationship.

Allie is one strong chick and I felt myself constantly cheering for her. She doesn't let people push her down and treads on through her struggles. If your looking for a strong heroine, excellent writing, and a heart warming celebrity love story this is it here.

It's a great "new adult" read and those in their twenties will definitely relate to this title!

Andrea pens "Face the Music" in a unique plot based the reality singing shows. Filled with suspense, romance, and some sexual scenes but not what I call steamy, this book will captivate you from the start. The characters are believable and relate-able which always makes it a better read, at least for me. A must read for all romance fans.

What's really cool about this book is that it is fresh and relevant. In today's worl of reality shows and all the fakeness of it all: lifestyles, body parts, attitudes, etc. It so refreshng to find a delightful read, especailly for summer. The story's main character, Allison, is suddnenly faced with more responsibility than she could ever have anticpated. In addition to her regular teaching job, helping raise her younger siblings and aging gandmother, she must also take on a second job as tutor to the underage contestants of the media sensation, Superstardom. The last thing that busy, low-key, down-to-earth Allison needs is romantic complictions. Especially not with an up and coming rock star with looks to die for! As I read the book, it had that classic flair of Disney stories, where the lowly girl finds her Prince Charming. There are funny parts as well, I laughed out loud! Don't let this is slip you by, It is treasure!!!! I read it in like four days and I work full time!

Will it be Rock or Roll......
Face The Music is a great read. I have to say that lately I have been reading more and more rock stories and every time I read one I am just blown away by the story and the groupies and all the crazy stuff that comes with being a part of that scene. Being a rock star and part of their lives is like living in another world. There are so many things that dictate everyday things and the places you can go and the people you should let get close to you that it amazes me how some of these rock stars do it.

Allison is a 24 year old college student just trying to get her degree when tragedy strikes her. She loses her mother in a tragic accident and is left to care for her sister and her niece and her grandmother who is disabled. If the tragedy won't break her then maybe this will. Not to mention that she is in a serious relationship with her boyfriend when he decides he wants a break and breaks if of with her. Allison swears she will not date or get into a serious relationship again. To her the hurt and pain is just not worth it.But as we read we see that Allison is a fighter and I love main characters who will fight and not just lay down and give up. She knows what she wants in life and she is not going to let anyone steal that from her. She will rise above this tragedy and make something for her and her family. So when the opportunity comes up for Allison to tutor some students who are on this reality TV show she jumps at the chance. It is there that she meets the sexy rocker Chris.

Now remember what I said Allison does not do relationships anymore. She has had her heart stomped on and she refuses to go through that hurt again. But Chris likes her and he will stop at nothing to prove that his feelings are real. But Allison is not having it. She knows shes attracted to him but is she willing to open her heart up again and especially to an up and coming rock star. Will his fame come in the way of their relationship? Will he hurt her like her ex did? Is it worth it to open up again? So many things are crossing her mind and she must choose in the end will it all be worth it at a chance of true love or is this just another heart break......
