Facebook for Dummies 3 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 27 reviews.

The authors are the managers of the Facebook operation itself. They start the reader off with the basic rationale for the original design - friends you know and trust; people with whom you have something in common as a basis for trust (only three communities: schools or colleges; workplace(s); the one region in which you live and can normally find it easy to talk with someone. The use of photographs and/or stories is simple to use in enhancing your friendships. It's very intuitive. As a second way to make use of Facebook, the authors promote starting and building a business on the internet. You are seeking to establish customers and their repeat business, so you want to know something about their needs and how your business can help (and how Facebook use can help).

When I signed up for Facebook, I was seriously unable to use it correctly. I never knew what to share, post, or say. Facebook For Dummies gave me tips easy to follow. I can comfortably share stuff online people like and I'm gaining lots of friends.

Found this to be a very good "follow along" book. I would have liked it to have a few additional sections that addressed subjects in a more technical manner - those of us that are in the "slightly-less-than-dummies" category. But it did fulfill it's intent.

I didn't find really anything in this you couldn't figure out just as easily on the Facebook site. This is a pretty high-priced book that is not worth the money.

I haven't yet purchased this book. Before I make my purchase, I would like to know if the content still works with the new updates and changes which Facebook recently made. Would hate to purchase the book only to find that half of the information is no longer valid. ie: Fan/Business pages no longer have their unique look, and other changes. Please advise. Thanks, Eydie :)

This is a great source of information for a Facebook novice trying to understand and use the features and applications available on Facebook.

Poor. When I follow the text, what it says I'll see--ain't. What I can do is guess and ask questions of Facebook's Help section, but I certainly can't recommend it for novices. Locate this book in a bookstore, and try it there with your tablet. When the book's failures become readily apparent, quietly put it back on the shelf and rejoice over the money you've saved. To the comment that you can't expect it to be perfect, I say then you shouldn't be writing or publishing it.
