Kyla has tried so hard to be one of the boys. She was always like a little sister to Tag. One summer, things changed from sibling teasing to blazing sexual tension. When they're reunited for a two-family reunion, the desire and lust are still there, simmering below the surface.

Tag is a pro hockey player who is cynical about women. He knows they're only interested in him because of who he is. Kyla is an attorney who's still trying to be "one of the boys" at her law firm. They're both adults and neither of them is looking for a relationship. A hot summer week at the lake. Need. Attraction. There's no reason they shouldn't explore each other.

    Loved it!

This author knows hoe to write a hot, steamy love scene for sure! I read this book streight through. It was a great story. But like other reviewers, i wish it were longer or there was an epiloge. I'm hoping we will read mmore about Tag and Kayla in the next book. I will keep reading this series for sure!

I’ve loved other books with hockey players as their main characters and this one didn’t disappoint. Faceoff is Kyla and Tag’s story and it was sweet at times and other times oh so hot and steamy. There was laughter, romance, angst, reevaluations of life’s goals, and plenty of family and friends too. The only negative was that the book ended very abruptly. I would hope that we will meet up with Kyla and Tag in another book so we can get more details on whether their happily ever after really materialized. It was definitely alluded to but I would have preferred better closure with the author’s spin on it rather than my own.

Although the author doesn’t say this is a series there are other books she’s written with stories for some of the characters that we were introduced to and were an integral part of the storyline. Now I’ll have to get my hands on them and add them to my TBR pile.

This book was reminiscent to me of the NY Blades series by Deirdre Martin and the Hot Zone series by Carly Phillips.

I have not read books by Jamieson before but you know I’ll be adding her to my list of must read authors.

Favorite Quote: Maybe he was right. Maybe some hot sex in a tent was just what she needed. With Tag, though? That might be a big mistake. She’d had a secret crush on him forever. Sure, part of her wanted to know what it would finally be like. But the practical, sensible part of her was afraid of what that would finally be like. Also there was the family to consider. What impact would something like that have on the rest of their families and their friendships if she and Tag…oh lord.

This was an OK story. Definately predictable from almost the beginning. What I don't like about this book and Breakaway is that they just kind of end. When I am expecting more, a lot of narative that I think could have better been spent on moving the story forward.
