Fine, but too exclusive of what many facial pain patients experience and go through.

I am surprised that the Facial Pain Association (formerly the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association) would put out a book like this, written not by aneurologist but by a cardiologist.
Too many people with facial pain, nd specifically trigeminal neuralgia, go through numerous surgeries and need to be on many medications, including, often, anticonvulsants.
A nutritional regimen is a boon to anyone, with or without facial pain. In that regard this is a good book.
For a better perspective on what facial pain, and in particular trigeminal neuralgia, I would suggest A PAINED LIFE, a chronic pain journey. This is the story of one woman's struggle but is emblematic of the struggle of many with TN and facial pain.

    Too Specific

While a healthy diet would help most anyone and this one could help, this book is really about and for those facing Trigeminal Neuralgia Type One. It is not -- as the title states -- about facial pain in general or even trigeminal neuralgia type two. I also wonder about some of the non-food substances recommended in the diet. I have not found the "exercises" other than breathing. I may try some of the recipes together with an anti-inflammatory diet (which is really what this is with a few twists). FYI, Dr. Oz does write the forward; he is also the Lemole's son-in-law. All in all, I did not think this book was worthy of the TNA - Facial Pain Association. Especially as someone who has struggled with facial pain for a decade. Very disappointing.

Don't waste your money on this one. Too bad Dr. Oz has to lower himself to promoting this book. TN type two suffers will find nothing in a diet that helps. :(

I have had TN for over 12 years. This book is a money making scam with a forward by Dr. Oz! Dr. Lemole and his wife have no scientific evidence for their "vegetarian" book of remedies. If you have TN - do not waste your money on this one. Seek out a registered dietician or a nutrapath before you follow the guidlines listed in this book.

A "Must Read" for facial pain patients!

The authors have first hand experience of trigeminal neuralgia and the debilitation that facial pain can cause in the life of a loved one. While many patients gain relief through surgery or medication, not every patient is so fortunate. Coming to terms with having a chronic pain condition does not come easily and learning coping skills and making lifestyle changes are necessary steps that can be equally elusive. Dr. Lemole and his wife offer insights on an integrative approach to leading a healthier life as a facial pain patient and, while not every approach has universal application, this book is an important contribution to anyone dealing with chronic pain, and facial pain in particular.
