Faith straightening.  A must read book.  Did not realize they left stories like this out of our schools.  I think it would be a great book to learn in High School.

    Brilliantly Written:Highly Recommended

FACING THE LION is about a little girl named Simone, who was taken from her parents & put in a Youth School for wayward children because she & her parents are Jehovah's Witnesses & they take a stand againts Hitler & everything he stands for! Because Simone would not Heil Hitler, which means Hitler is their Savoir, she is considered an evil child who is unrully. This moving story tells how one little girl stands up, valiantly, against Hitler & his followers without lying or losing her Bible principles. Even though she is a child, she is very wise for her years & she only brings honor to Jehovah while in Hitlers Youth Camp. If only more people had been this brave & stood up to Hitler the way she did, the world could've avoided such tragedy as the genocide of the Jews, Gypsies & Jehovah's Witnesses.
There is a powerful lesson to be learned from this book & I strongly recommend it to all ages who want to learn more about what children were faced with during Hitler's reign of terror!
Simone is a shinning example of how a child could servive in such a horrible environment if she is brought up in the Truth. My heart goes out to her & all of the children who faced the Lion!

True story of Nazi Germany. Eloquently written.

I highly recommend reading this book. In fact it would make an excellent addition to middle school curriculum. It reveals much about Hitler's crusade against Jehovah's Witnesses and Jews. It is honest, candid, and heartwrenching at once. An eye opener.

'Hope is a man's greatest treasure.'

This is an incredible book about, love, courage, and most importantly, faith. Simone Arnold gives us her story and her view as she stood for what she believes in, even if to death. She gives us her tale during world war two. Because of her religion, and her belief in Jehovah God, she was taken from her mother and father, and taken away from her childhood. How she dealt with the loss of this will make you cry for this girl. One last thing about this book is just how much faith this girl had. And it proved that her faith in God was stronger then the entire Nazi Government. As each man and woman tried weaken her to successfully destroy her faith, still she comes out stronger then before. Proving, that Jehovah will not leave us in our darkest hour. This book gives everyone a little hope, and a will, to hold on to our faith in Jehovah, during the struggle against the Lions that we all face in the future.

    Jehovah blesses his servants

This book is a beautiful example of how Jehovah blesses his servants when they faithfully serve him. It proves how if we put faith in him he will not forget us. It is a great example for the young ones in the organization to despite what adults or peers say if you know you have the truth hold on to it and prove Satan a liar just like our sister did in her brilliant book

    faith strengthening

This book really is one of my favorites! Not only is it completely encouraging but it makes you realize that sometime we may be object of such persecution and seeing somebody who, at that time, was even younger than I am now, is just amazing! I was actually at Sister Liebsters Book Reading in Mainz, Germany and just seeing her and her husband was faith strengthening so I believe that this book will prove to be that for lots and lots of people!

One of the most outstanding books to read

I have yet to read this book a second time. This is a book that touches ever emotion. It made me want to be strong and stand firm in Jehovah no matter what. It showed me what persuction really means and what went on in that situation. I hope to also meet my dear sisters and brothers that stood strong during this troubled time. Too all of the readers stay strong and it won't belong so hold on, and believe in Jehovah. Love sis

One Little Girl pitted against such evil

My heart just swells with love and pride when I read about the courage of this little girl up against the evil of the Nazi regime. It brings to life the real struggle of all who had to suffer this inhumanity and yet also brings the courage that we to can face the lion and prevail with Jehovahs backing.

Jehovah was her refuge and her shepherd

This was more than just a book about a girl. It was a triumph of Jah's sovereignty over his enemy, as told through the eyes of a determined young girl. As i was reading her story, I found myself worried about Simone as if she were a close friend, and though we have never met, I feel that she is. I learned so much from Simone and her very wise mother about endurance and reliance on Jehovah in spite of the harshest obstacles. I was amazed at how she stayed faithful when separated from her parents, even as a yound child, and I saw how Jehovah's love surrounded her. It really brought home the words,' do not be afraid for I am with you.Do not gaze about for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness.' Simone experienced this truth firsthand, and I through her. The tissue box was empty when I finished. I look forward to meeting my spiritual sister someday.

Facing the Lion: Memoirs of a Young Girl in Nazi Europe

This book is one of the most outstanding and moving book I've ever read and althhough I have read twice before, I'm almost finished with it for the third time. It's like everytime I finish it, I want to read it agian. Each time I read it, it was like living through the pain and suffering she felt and went through. Her courage and determantion to see it through has lead me to be braver more dertermined person in standing up for what I believe in. For I, too, am a Jehovah's Witness and go through some of the very same persuctions she went through. Although I don't get punished for not saying the 'Pledge of Alliagence', I still get stares and comments made. This book has tought me that no matter what persuction I'm going through, God is still backing me up in everything I do. Usually, when you find a good book, you tend to tell other people about it. So, read this tear-jercking, heart-warming, and over all, moving book about this young Jehovah's Witness girl who was persucted by Nazi's.

A Christian Family in Washington State

This is one of those books that you just can't put down. My 18 year old son found it where I'd left it on a table and before I could start it he had to finish. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and found it most encouraging. We will hopefully never face the trials that Simone and her family did but I certainly hope that we can remain as faithful. We shall recommend this book to others to read too.

    Stood Faithful Through Trials

This book was an excellent example of relying on Jehovah God. This system is getting worse and worse and we need need strength from Jehovah to help us remain faithful because it's getting harder as we near the end. Simone really was an inspiration that is very close to heart for all of us I'm sure. I hope I can make the same, important decisions that she made.

    Remarkable

I was totally absorbed by the book. I'm still dumbfounded by the faith and trust my spiritual sister, Simone, had from such a tender age. Her determination has reinforced my own determination to serve Jehovah regardless of what comes my way. It taught me that there is always a bright and positive way to view life no matter how desperate situations may seem. I'm encouraging all of my friends to read the book. I look forward to sitting down with Simone in the new system over a cup of coffee and listening to her life story for hours. Only then will we have the time to talk to faithful and loyal ones for as long as we want.

    What A Girl!

Simone Arnold Liebster's book is an incredible story of resistance, and is all the more phenomenal because she was only a child when she stood up and resisted. Simone is an incredible heroine. She was subjected to hideous degradation yet held firm and did not lower her standards just to fit in with the majority, all of whom were pressuring her like mad - and ot only that, they were ruled by Nazis. There are lots of accounts about resistance fighters in World War Two but this one is all the more special because of Simone's young age and wonderful heart. Wherever Simone is in the world today, I wish her all the best! She deserves as much good in her life as this story has given to mine.

An outstanding example of courage and reliance on God!

I have never read anything quite like Simone's story. She's an excellent writer! It motivated me to instill similar qualities in my own daughter. Even when it was all over Simone and her family were never the same...but looked to the future paradise. I so look forward to meeting simone. There's not a person that shouldn't read this book.
