This was a brief story that catches your attention though leaves you wishing for more. A short story with a lot of information to pass on, I felt that it spent too much time on the background and not enough on the story or character development. There was a lot of interesting mythology in this story with deep involvement and a few twists. Meghan is a realistic teenager, though a shy and not completely explained. Cade is a wonderfully dark and mysterious hero, though sometimes I felt he was too mysterious. Something that will probably be solved in the next book. Their romance is implied and lightly touched, but not really shown or detailed. It was sweet though. A short and quick story that left you hanging and waiting for the section of the story.

Faelorehn is a great first book in Ms. Johnson’s Otherworl

Faelorehn is a great first book in Ms. Johnson’s Otherworld Trilogy. Meghan Elam is a 17-year old junior trying to fit in despite the fact that most of her classmates think she is crazy. But Meghan has a small group of loyal friends who accept her the way she is. The side characters are fun and intriguing, particularly Robyn, who is into the Pagan Religion and constantly makes her friends take part in the Celtic rituals. Meghan is constantly subjected to teasing and tormenting by her peers, and Ms. Johnson does a good job of showing Meghan’s strength by not having her show too much outward emotion at their teasing, while still making her character realistic since the reader experiences Meghan’s inner turmoil.
Just like any teenage girl who has never had a boy show interest in her, Meghan is quickly taken with Cade MacRoich when he shows up in her life. But he isn’t a normal boy, he is from the otherworld and it is from Cade that Meghan learns about who she is.
In Faelorehn, the author does a great job of setting up the series and hinting at what’s to come down the road. You find out just enough about Meghan’s past and the mysterious Cade to leave you wanting to know more. There are a lot of minor characters in the first book (Meghan has a large family) and I am hoping that we will learn more about them as the series progresses! Overall, Faelorehn is a great, quick read that once I started, I couldn’t put down.

Meghan Elam is not just an ordinary person, that's what the people around her think, especially the ones who find her weird. Even Meghan herself thought that she was abnormal. Her entire life is like a mystery to her because of the voices she would hear and the strange things she saw. Little did she know that it would be part of who she was and what she would become.

Faelorehn was a well paced book, filled with twists and turns. Meghan's character was well established throughout the book. Jenna Johnson gave great visual details of every aspect of the book. This book will leave you wanting more. It was a great beginning of the trilogy. I am dying to read the next one

    Faeloehn

I did enjoy this book, but i have read better. I like the unique creatures that the author creates. Even the gruesome ones like the little goblins. The book does get slow in some parts like when she is not getting attacked and only thinking about Cade. Claire is also annoying and stupid. Could'nt she realize that Cade was safe and the Morrigan was lying. It was way to obvious, and even if he was in danger what was she going to do? Its not going to stop me fom reading the other books though. But i really felt like slapping some sense into her though.

Faelorehn was my first read to review experience. I was very excited to get this opportunity. Faelorehn was a good book. I have to admit it started out slowly, but Ms. Jenna Johnson had a lot of background information to get out on Celtic mythology. I didn't know a whole lot about this, so the information was greatly appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, Meghan and her friends had me rooting for them from the beginning. All unique in their own way, they fit together so well. I wanted more about Cale. I am still trying to wrap my mind around his angle. Is he gonna share his feelings for her, or stay in the background leaving her to figure out her new identity alone? I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
