Interspersed with spotlight features on faery folklore, including fascinating quotes drawn from medieval manuscripts and both written and oral folklore, these tales cover faery morals, elvish misdemeanors, the spells cast by goblins, and the sightings of the creatures, as well as their dealings with mortals. The enchanting stories, rewritten to engage a new generation, are each attributed to a British region. Title: Faeries, Elves And Goblins ( The Old Stories ) Author: Rosalind Kerven Publisher: National Trust Books Published: 8-14-2013 ISBN-10: 1907892478 ISBN-13: 978-1907892479 E-Book: ASIN: B00EKKAVU0 Pages: 213 We grew up on the tales of Faeries, Ghost, Goblins, and other members of the other world that came to visit us in secret. I have read my children and their children stories from the books I had as a child until finally giving those books to my niece a few years back. This book, Fairies, Elves and Goblins: The Old Stories, brought back all those memories of holding them close at night as they would go to sleep or at home with a cold needing that extra bit of attention of an extra story. I remember a story very similar to the Hob Thrush from my own childhood as well as The Faery Borrower. So similar that at first I thought they were the same until checks the sources on them. No matter where they came from my visiting grand-nieces and grand-nephews enjoyed them tremendously. Asking if they could have some read again the next night. To me that is the best recommendation, but I have to tell you as an adult this reader got just as much enjoyment from the stories as they children they were read to. As it comes in both e-reader and hard copy you have your choice. Don't miss this chance to bring back a bit of your childhood that you can share with the generations that came after you.
