Overview

FAIL Harder follows the hilarious best-seller Fail Nation to showcase 200 original full-color photos of world-wide FAILS based on the popular website failblog.org, the most visited member of the Cheezburger Network.

So what qualifies as a FAIL? How about a nursery outfitted with a gun rack hanging over the baby's crib? Perhaps the equation, "E=MC3" written on a classroom's write/erase board. What about a trifecta of beauty parlor, chain saw repair, and nightclub housed inside an all-in-one-stop shop?

Classic FAILs like these are presented in more than 15 different categories, including At Home, In A Relationship, On the Job, and With Your Pets.

If you must FAIL, FAIL Harder.

Unlike the other reviewers, I've never heard of the Fail Blog before coming across this book, nor have I checked it out as of the writing of this review. Hence, all of the photographs of the "fails" pictured in these pages were completely new to me. In general I am partial towards the "unintentional" humor, misplaced and awkward signage, and unfortunate yet hilarious accidents, so I really enjoyed going through this book. It provided me with a quite a few chuckles, although not nearly as many LOLs as I would have liked. A few pictures were certainly staged, but I am not too fussy about such things. Each picture has a small sign in the corner that seems to provide an amusing way of visualizing the level of "failness" on the 1-5 scale. They range from mildly embarrassing to downright lethal. I am not sure if I'd exactly use the same criteria or the scale as the authors of this book, but these little signs add to the overall impression of facetiousness. I really like the layout and design of this book. The landscape format is ideal for presenting photos. The glossy high-quality paper and the hardbound cover add to the overall aesthetic appeal. This would make a great coffee-table or a gag-gift book, as well as great restroom literature.
