About the Author

Phillip Van Saun is Director of continuity and emergency services at the University of California San Diego. He serves as a member of the emergency policy group and co-chairs the behavioral threat assessment and management team. He is a graduate and former instructor of the National Interagency Crisis Communications program and the White House military office executive support program. He was awarded the Presidential Service Award by President George H. W. Bush for his service to the White House.
