Faith Latimer had left Wyoming 10 years earlier to pursue s career in fashion design in New York City. She has never regretted her decision to leave the family’s ranch and stay in the city. One day, she gets a phone call from her brother to come to Wyoming immediately, her father is dying. She has to go. Once there, Faith meets a man that could very easily change her destiny. He is rugged ranch hand Luke Garrett. He is handsome, hardworking and just about irresistible. He also seems to find her hard to resist. As much as she loves the beauty of the ranch and the excitement of her activities with Luke, she has been happy with her life in the city. Will Faith go back home and choose her career or will she stay on the ranch in Wyoming with the man she is falling in love with and who has captured her heart?
Faith was not looking forward to returning home to the “Painted Sky Ranch.” She hadn’t been home to the ranch in nearly 10 years. She was very anxious and uptight about the whole thing. She had no idea how she would deal with her dad’s impending death, or Billy’s constant questions and guilt trips. She only had a few minutes until the plane landed. She was very nervous to see her brother again.
As Faith walked off the ramp, into the airport, she looked around for Billy. She was just about to decide he wasn’t there when she saw him. He gestured to her and she walked up to him. “Hi, little brother, long time no see,” said Faith. She and Billy embraced and it felt good hugging her brother. It had been a long time. “Faith, you look terrific,” Billy said. “It seems that city life is agreeing with you.” “Thank you, little brother. I like the city life. It suits me pretty well,” said Faith. She and her brother talked all the way home, recanting memories and laughing at old stories. Then, the conversation turned to their father, Pete Latimer, and his aneurism. “How bad is he, Billy?” asked Faith. “He’s pretty darn bad, Faith. It looks like he is on his deathbed. The doctor allowed him to come home and be comfortable.”
