    Odd mix

Historical romance set after the Norman invasion of England but with modern style sex scenes. Some interesting historical details about sea voyages, crusades, monastic life and castles. Unfortunately, many of the characters don't feel true to their times, character development feels forced, and too many are merely formulaic villains. Plot takes a couple turns but pacing is off and ending feels rushed. Read this as part of boxed set, but wouldn't recommend.

    Hello

Good story at beginning, not so much towards the end. Sexual encounters with the same infidelity theme, after all if you don't trust the guy and think he's got mercenary reasons to be 'forcing' himself on the 'I just can't help myself' when you committed yourself to someone else, of course you will lay back and take it and it's his fault you enjoyed it. Hope the next book isn't the same theme as the first two. Over 900 pages plus excerpt.

Great Read! More twists and suspense than I anticipated. The Catholic Church isn't regarded highly in this book, and I had a problem with that at times. I really tried to get past that and tried to remember that was the time period. The Church has endured many problems and this time period was one of them. So rating it just from the stand point of a story and not truly condeming the Church, I give it 5 Stars. It is a great story of misunderstanding and I felt the character's acted in a correct manner for what they were going through. Even though it is over 1500 Nook pages, it moved fast. I can't wait to read the next story about her brother.

    A page turner

Story is set in 1159, if you love to read love stories about kings, queens, knights, castles, etc, you'll love this one. You'll find Martine's brother, Rainulf quite interesting. So look for his story in Heaven's fire, a good read.
