She couldn't believe her eyes.
Stressed out ad-exec Dakota wandered into Catamount Outfitters in search of a guide for a wilderness excursion. She didn't expect to be greeted by not one, but five of the most ruggedly delicious-looking men she'd ever seen. Not to mention a live cougar guarding the shop.
The Falke brothers have more than just good looks in their genes.
Eldest brother Axel agrees to guide Dakota on her mountain trek. In cougar form, Axel's twin, Gunnar, was there as a protection from predators—but he had his eye on the sexy client instead.
Into the wild...
While the rule with clients was "paws-off," both Axel and Gunnar couldn't resist Dakota's seductive Native American beauty and determination. As cold days led to hot nights in the cabin, Axel and Gunnar wondered if they'd finally found a woman strong enough to tame them...

Picked this up as soon as it hit B&N. This is going to be a great series... well written with great characters that you get attached to right from the beginning. I already can't wait for more in the series. I read this book almost entirely in one sitting. It was also nice for a change to get a book that had more than 1 or 200 pages.. This is a little over 400.

I loved the story line and vivid descriptions only a minor yuck factor in the sex with both brothers.

"I just needed a getaway.a vacation fling."
When you attract the attention of two puma shifters, there is no such thing as a "fling". As oldest brother, Axel, explains at one point, "domesticated cougars mate for life, when they're ready".
Litter mates and oldest of the six Falke brothers, Axel and Gunnar had not thought they were ready to settle down and reveal their family secret until they met Vegas vacationer Dakota Tokala. For her part, Dakota had the same reaction any breathing female would have had upon meeting five of the Falke brothers all at once: embarrassing case of the stares, slightly breathless and difficulty speaking. The only member of the Falke household she wasn't thrilled about meeting was the live cougar, apty named Falke, that guarded the store and travelled with them on the hiking expedition. Actually, Dakota's reaction to the cat as well as the men was refreshingly genuine. I could easily picture myself behaving the same way in her situation. I appreciate that the authors did not have her appearing overly confident in the face of an otherwise wild animal or such gorgeous male specimens.
While Dakota is initially hesitant to get to close to the cougar, Falke, she has no problems at all with encouraging her guide, Axel. I liked her self-sufficient can-do attitude. The authors do not over-do her independent personality allowing the men the opportunity to get to know her a little better.
The descriptions of the scenery as well as the attention to details are well plotted out in this enjoyable novella and yet I was left feeling that the story was rushed. There was sufficient opportunity if the authors had chosen to draw out the story for the sake of adding pages but it might have come off as filler rather than necessary story points.
Falke's Peak appears to be the first in the Puma Nights series. If Ms. Layle and Ms. Keaton stay true to form in regards to the mating customs for these big cats then there should be at least two more books for the remaining brothers and hopefully a third book for their sister Heidi. I would really like to get to know this family better and look forward to the next installment.

Review: Dakota's introduction to the Falke brothers in this book is the stuff dreams are made of. Walk in to a store and find five gorgeous men eager to serve… well, one of them is a cougar at the time. Once again, I found myself running back to the store (aren't we glad that doesn't involve a car anymore?) to buy book one when I unknowingly started book two (Falke's Captive). This time I wasn't disappointed because Falke's Peak was most excellent.
One of the boys is always in cougar form on the trail and in the store for protection. This gets to be a bitter point when Axel and Gunnar take Dakota up the trail to the cabin, and only one gets to be human. They can communicate telepathically with each other, and the jealousy is leaping between the two guys just as much as the chemistry is between them and Dakota.
I wish the book was longer, and got more into the the relationship between all the family. But it's a quick read and the author shows us the character's feelings and struggles from the beginning. I couldn't tell it was written by two people, and the flow of the story was great but it just made the book go by too fast. The authors didn't take the quick & easy ending, and I loved how it ended. Of course I can't give it away.
Go buy this book! But make sure you buy Falke's Captive as well.

This book was amazing!! I couldnt put it down once i started. Gunn and Ax had me laughing at thier sibling banter and Dakota was just as fun. What i liked was it wasnt overly explicit. This romance novel is sreamy but not over the top hot. As a reader who mostly stays clear of threesome books because it can be explicit, i found myself able and wanting to read every page. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND TO ANYONE WHO LOVES SHIFTER NOVELS!!!!!!! Especially if you love some laughs :)

I love the shifter series and the Falke family. After reading the first book I wanted to see what happened to the rest of the quad. Not a big fan of the MMF sex part.
