All her life, Beth Denton battled both her weight and her controlling parents. And now that she’s declared victory, she’s looking for her prince charming…

Beth has always lived in her outgoing sister’s shadow, plagued by her own insecurity about her body. It’s time for her to step out from the sidelines and experience what life has to offer—then she’s laid off from her teaching job, and has to rely on her sister to get her a job at Danvers International.

Nick Merimon is gorgeous, wealthy, and a well-known playboy—just the sort of man Beth has always avoided. But even she can’t deny the sparks that are flying between them. He could be just the man to show her what she’s been missing all these years. And after they share one heart-stopping night together, she is surprised when it leads to a relationship.

But as their connection grows, and the realities of their romance begin to show, Beth will have to overcome both her own insecurities and her doubts about Nick’s intentions if her newfound pleasures are to last forever…

Least favorite of the Danvers Series

First, let me start by saying that I absolutely love the 1st two books in this series. The story lines are great. The characters are fabulous. I think Suzy has to be one of my favorite characters of all time!
I was really looking forward to the 3rd book, but it didn't quite live up to the 1st two books. Suzy, Claire, Gray, Jason, Nick, and even Mr & Mrs Merimon were all witty, compassionate, and captivating characters. I felt for them and could identify with them as if they truly existed. Unfortunately, I found myself wanting to skip the pages containing Beth and her thoughts.
I understand insecurity, body image issues, and even eating disorders. I am a Nurse Practitioner and worked in a weight management clinic for several years. But the storyline with Beth made me want to pull out my hair! She was the most annoying, obnoxious, self pitying character I've ever seen. I just couldn't stand it. The self pity was just too much to take. It turned me off so much that if not for continuing story of the other characters, I absolutely would not have finished this book!
I haven't given up, though. Because I so loved the 1st books in the series, I'll read the next one when it comes out. Hopefully, this was just a fluke. Please go back to the strong, funny, caring women; and, of course, the strong, sexy, compassionate men! No more whiny, selfish, weak, self pitying women!

    LOVE!!!

I have to admit I was most excited for this book because of the couple. Though I did love the book. After such a delay from September to December to February. I was hoping for a book with more length and actual content. There was so much on just basically about eating and other characters. I would of loved to read more about Nick and Beth. Their story and how they really came to love eachother. It felt more like they both kept saying there was no love then hey I love you. Like I said I loved it, but Beth and Nick are my favorite couple and I definitely wouldnt of complained if there was alot more to have read about them.

Great but problems with the heroine

I loved the previous books in tge Danvers series and really liked this one about Nick, the playboy of the Merrimon brothers, who falls in love with the sister of her sister in law. I would have given it 5 stars, if not for the frustrating Beth, the heroine of the book. After having lived with morbid obesity for many years, she lost the weight but not the insecurities. I get that and could relate to her struggles, except that her character ended up becoming a big mess of bipolar behavior and I got tired of her blaming her issues on the poor guy, who was a sweetheart. Still, I recommend the book and the series and look forward to the next (which I hope is about Ella and Declan).

    Good Book...Abrupt Ending

I think Book #2 was my favorite but this was not a bad read. I actually appreciated the author's attempt to show how and why eating disorders impact women. I also liked how she developed the characters of Ella and Declan. The ending was probably the strangest I ever read. The book just ended abruptly. I was expecting another chapter or at least a few more pages to wrap it up. It was as if the author was ready to move on to Ella and Declan's story.

    Unhappy

This book is about a girl that used to be over weight and lost a lot of weight. Then she gets pregnant and goes completly overboard and stops eatting because she continues to be self concious about her weight. I think its completly self-fish and instead of the boyfriend helping her out by talking to a profesional about it he continues to believe her even when he has doughts just becayse he doesnt want to upset her. This book just ticked me off. I guess some people can do realky dumb things.

    Not My Type of Book

I'm not into boy & girl next door type of romances. I like glamour and glitz so this one wasn't for me. I didn't even make it half way through the book. Not badly written, just not my cup of tea.
