    I love it

When I was very small, I was afraid of death and afraid to die. My mom read me this book and I liked it a lot. Even now (I am 13) I still read it, almost all the time because I still get scared, but this book helps alot. I still love it. I would recomend it to anyone and everyone.

    Great at any age!!

When I was 5 I lost my great grandmother to a stroke. A family friend gave me this book to better help me understand what had happened and why she was no longer there. Now 23 years later, I have bought the book for a young family member, as well as a copy for myself. Highly recommended for anyone dealing with a loss.

    A Wonderful Story!!!

While living in Nebraska, I was blessed to get a hold of this book some years ago. I love it! I think this story should be in every library and household. While in Nebraska, I went to their library and found out that they did not have this one. I highly recommended it to them. About the time they received the book, a family who lived close to us, was killed in a white out storm. It was a very horrible tragedy for everyone. This book was dedicated to that family and I know it has helped many there and all over! I am ordering 3 more today, one for our local library 1 for our primary school and another for our elementary school here in Georgia.

    Grieving Mom

I lost my baby boy at 22 weeks pregnant in May 2005. I first heard parts of this story at a memorial service this year for infant and pregnancy loss. After hearing the synopsis, I knew I had to buy the book. It is an excellent way to help understand death and dying. I plan on reading this to my other children in memory of their brother.

Worth sharing, buy more than one

This book was given to my husband and I when my husband's father passed away. We were both very enamored with this book (we are both in our 40s). This book is not filled with complex ideologies of death, but rather, it puts into words a simple explanation of death and how it affects the living. Six months after my husband's father died, his mother died. This book has been read outloud at several family graveside services since we were originally introduced to the book; my mother's service (she was 71, and it was exceptionally well received by her grandchildren). It was also recently read outloud at my youngest brother's graveside service (he was 41). We also have extra copies of this book on hand. We give it freely to friends who are grieving.

    Freddie touched my heart

When I was 8, both of my parents and my uncle died in the Sept. 11th bombings. I was orphaned and moved in with my aunt. She gave me The Fall of Freddie the Leaf. It helped me cope with the idea of death, and that everyone eventually dies, some sooner than others. 'Freddie' touched my heart.

Most inspiring and helpful grief tool

I was given the tape of The Fall of Freddie the Leaf by a Nun Sister Sarah who knew I was in desperate need of help with my grieving situation. I have made dozens of copies and gave them to my loved ones that have told me how thankful they were to be able to have this. I see the book but I am searching for a better tape than the one I have to be able to help people in need.

    Incredible

This book was given to me when I experienced death for the first time. I was 8 years old and my five month old cousin died. The book explains death to a child in a way that most adults can't - especially when they are experiencing grief. This book is a definite must for any child who loses a loved one.

    Great for all ages

This a wonderful story about the process of life. I read it to my six year old son and it helped him understand why everything dies - to continue the cycle of life.

    A time for change

The first time I read Freddie the Leaf I was nine years old. My mother gave it to me soon after my great grandmother died. It was a very tragic time for me because she died on my ninth birthday. I really had no consept of what was going on and why this had to happen the way it did. When I read this book it helped me learn how life really goes. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who has lost a loved one or who just really doesnt understand the meaning of death. Thank you

    Great teaching tool, too.

This book was first given to me by my mother when we were both struggling to deal with the death of my father from cancer. Although that was several years ago, this book has remained a staple in my life during times of loss. I now teach a Medical Sociology course, and one of our topics is 'Death and Dying'. This book has proven to be incredibly useful to me in teaching what can be a difficult topic. It truly is a book for all ages.

    Hope Filled

This book is filled with analogies surrounding nature to create an awareness of dying that is filled with hope and love. It is a story of life and how we move through life and become more and more gentle with age. This book will soften your heart and inspire you soul to care for those who need us the most.

    Powerful Book

I first heard the story of Freddie the Leaf at a family funeral 15 years ago. It touched me so much that our family has included it in every funeral since that time. Everyone enjoys the story and I think it helps everyone understand life and death a little better. It even has special power. After we read the story at my mother-in-law's funeral, a single fresh fall leaf fell at our feets outside the funeral home in AUGUST. You can't tell me that wasn't my mother-in-law commenting on the story. It even had her approval. We've kept the leaf in the book ever since.

    This Book Helped Me Greatly

I am 19 years old and my father passed away recently. It was a suprise to me and I was constantly wondering why it happened. My cousins gave me this book and after I read it I had this sense of understanding and acceptance. It did happen too soon but now I understand that we all have our time and we are taken when God wants us.

    Splendid Look on Life

I gave this book to a friend several years ago after the passing of his young son and have been giving copies to those who have lost loved ones ever since. Four years ago my sister gave me a copy at Christmas shortly after my mothers sudden passing. I read this story quite often and still pesent copies to those who have lost loved ones. Freddie is a wonderful story about death not really being death but part of the ever changing life cycle that God has created.

    A special gift for everyone

This wonderful little book was a gift from my mother when my Grandmother passed on suddenly from cancer. As an adult, it was a simple story with an incrediable impact and helped me as part of my grieveing. At Christmas it was the perfect gift to show the value of friendship with friends. Once again, Freddie helps upon the death of a young man and for the son who never knew him.
