Fall River Dreams was a great book about the storied history of a basketball famed town, and loving the sport of basketball I found myself caught up in the history of a team working together throughout a season and trying to achieve this common goal. I can definitely relate to the main character, Chris, seeing as I myself have just gone through the college basketball recruiting level only on a slightly smaller scale. It was a great book to read and I definitely read it at a good point in my life. The novel, however, only captured my attention for half the time. I believe that some of the history of the town of Fall Rivers that is in this book helps to create the story of the team, but during other parts of the novel I was asking myself how this history would fit into the story line. I found myself wanting to skip over the history lesson in the book and just wanting to read more about the team and the season they were in.
Excluding the historical aspect of the book, and keeping in mind that I love the game of basketball, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in that type of history and learning more about this basketball-based town. I found my connection with the book, and I hope others can too.

This book (Fall River Dreams) was a good book for about half of the time. But the other half of the time, Reynolds (the author) was sidetracking wildly and going into the history of the town so much that it made me loose interest quickly. I think that a little background information about the town was interesting and helpful to fully gain the town's aspect on basketball and life, but nearly every other chapter was a new history lesson that often did not pertain to the story. This point of view that I personally have on this book probably comes from me loving sports ans especially basketball, but I think that a lot of people will side with me in the sidetracking parts. And don't get me wrong, I love history, but I think that Reynolds doesn't use thie history like he should. I did very much enjoy the parts of the book where the Durfee Basketball team is playing, or when he is zoning in on them though. If the book did not have these negative aspects that I have mentioned, I would have rated it much higher, but the main storyline was very entertaining and interesting.

This book was amazing and it kept me guessing the entire time. Throughout the whole book you will be guessing where Chris Herren is going to college with a great twist. AMAZING BOOK

This book is well-written, and the author brings the reader into the world of 'Fall River' and the lives of the players, families, friends, supporters, and fans of the team, and life within the city itself. The book shows that hard work, and determination will take you anywhere you strive to reach!!

This book was great, you get to listen to each game with great details, and you learn about the town, and players. Its wonderful. Also recommended: Glory Days, by Bill Reyholds.

Reynolds is masterful in his work! A must for any high school ball player. It captures the heart and soul of the greatest game on earth. Through competitiveness and a town's suppport, one small school rises to the top in Massachusettes as a premier high school power. Bill Reynolds captures this in a moving story of life and basketball. A must read, one that you will find hard to put down!
