I like the story but the writing is off. Missing words, wrong tense, conversations that are missing details... I dont know if I will pay for the next in fear it will be like this one.

The Crest Fallen Series by Tijan was recommended by more than one of our readers when I asked for book recommendations on our facebook page. It seemed to be a fan favorite so I decided to take the plunge and read book one, Crest Fallen High. I had purchased the box set (seems to be no longer available) earlier this year so I already had the first few books on my Kindle so my monthly book budget didn’t take a hit either, it was a win-win reading solution. This book is free on all platforms right now. Technically I skipped the first book in the series, Mason, book zero which tells the story of Mason and how he ended up the way he is. I didn’t want to have any spoilers going into the story so I just started with book one, Crest Fallen High. The description for Crest Fallen High is a little off, no, actually it is a lot off. One of the main reasons I haven’t read these books before is because I didn’t really know what they were about. The description on Amazon doesn’t really tell us much about what the story is actually about, but trust me in that it’s a crazy story which will take hold of our attention until you finish. At first I found the writing to be a little choppy so it made it slightly more difficult to get into the plot and character development. I didn’t feel like things were flowing well, but as I continued to read and the story progressed I was able to warm up to the writing style. Either that or I was just so taken in by the events that I didn’t notice it as much. I don’t even know what to say about this book. While these main characters might still be in high school this is in no way a young adult read. The story follows our heroine, 17 year old Sam and the hero, 18 year old Mason while they… well… basically they sort through a bunch of stupid high school drama. That’s the best way to sum up this book, a bunch of high school drama. I don’t know what this book was about besides that. I mean I really don’t even know what Crest Fallen High was about besides the craziness. The boys, Logan and Mason are crazy. The other student’s at Sam’s school are crazy. All their parents are crazy. The whole story is crazy. Yet, it’s because of this crazy that I couldn’t look away. I read this book until 3am one night. I just couldn’t put it down, but yet I’m not even sure I liked it. Crest Fallen High was just so crazy and messed up I’m still processing everything. And just in case you weren’t sure by the mass number of times I used the word crazy to describe book one, let me tell you, I found this book to be crazy. I don’t know when, or why, or how it happened, but at some point I found myself really enjoying Crest Fallen High and I ended up starting book two, Crest Fallen Family right away.

Fallen Crest High is an angry novel, digging deep into the dark mass of teenage emotion and the desire to simply stop feeling. There is little to like about any of the characters, all angry and cruel, the embodiment of negative social norms. The adults are not role models and the teenagers are any parents’ nightmare. And yet, like any train wreck, it is hard not to sit back and indulge in the provocative environment, cathartically happy to have not lived through such high school experiences. Much like reading the slander pages of the gossip rags, it is hard not to continue to be intrigued by the downward slide of these characters, wondering to what depths they could further sink. The book leaves little hope that there will be happiness any time soon. *Originally posted on goodreads

Once i started reading this series, i couldnt put it down. It has some dark moment but they are very real moments. I fell in love with Sam, Mason, and Logan. Their bond is what bring the book to life.

GOOD STORY. CHARACTERS WERENT REALLY DESCRIBED SO COULDNT REALLY PICTURE THEM. EMOTIONAL ROLLAR COASTAR FOR SURE WITH LOTS OF DRAMA, I REALLY LIKED IT BUT SOMETIMES SAM WAS JUST TOO "I DONT CARE OF ANYTHING/ANYONE" AND WHAT WAS WITH ALL THAT RUNNING AND NO EATING. THE GUYS WERE GREAT YOUR REGULAR ALPHA MALES.

OMG I can't tell you how much I LOVED this book! Such an exciting reading experience. Definitely not for readers under 17, quite a few steamy scenes. It's a bit (well a smidge) on the darker side, keep that in mind when reading. Samantha is not your typical, female, lead character...but I enjoyed that about her. Mason and Logan are hot, hot, hot! I believe this is one of my new favorite stories and I can't wait to get to the next book in the series. There is so much to this book that I can't list it all, but here area few things: love, action, struggles, jealousy, deception...........This book is highly recommended.

Fallen Crest High by Tijan is not for the faint of heart. It is wonderful, and terrible, at the same time. Sam, Mason, and Logan are magical characters. Their personalities fit perfectly together, but boy does it cause trouble. I dropped a star for typos and editing, but mostly this book is really good.

WOW I wanted so much to give this 5 stars, but I have so many issues with the way the book was written that I just couldn't. I realize this is a story about teen age kids, but at times it also seemed like an immature teenager wrote it, Becky's character is completely unbelievable, the whole family drama is unbelievable, Sam's inner dialogue is confusing I don't think the story should have been told from her POV, at times it was hard to tell who was speaking. The story itself could have been really good, but it was written really bad.
