This book was thoughtful, tender and very sensual. It's the story of a prostitute who is rescued from a life of meaningless sex. Old story? This story is about a MALE prostitute. He goes through life without love or friendship until a woman shows him what sex with love can be.

Very romantic. Instant attraction, but the couple get to know each other before jumping into bed. More than a lust story. Ryan is a stand up guy and Sarah is a strong, positive, thinking heroine. Fights for her man. Lots of drama but not over dramatic. They make each other better people.

Great Story This story is about a Sarah and Ryan/Kevin.  Sarah is 35 and she is a writer and she recently lost her book deal.  So to save money she sold her Condo, and moved into a Victorian house Apartment. Sarah shares the balcony with her neighbor Ryan/Kevin, there is an immediate attraction, but Sarah feels as though she is not the type of woman that would interest him, because she is older and she figures someone like him would not be interested in her.  After all he is a model (underwear). A friendship develops between Ryan/Kevin and Sarah.  Sarah is having lunch with her sister one day and the subject of Ryan/Kevin comes up, and Miriam (sister) makes a comment that maybe he is gay that is why he never made a move on Sarah. Ryan/Kevin has a secret, and if Sarah ever finds out his secret she would not want someone like him to touch her. What I liked about this story is the chemistry that these two people shared, I actually felt as though I knew them.  It is a love story, and the love between them was real and intense.   I rooted for this couple, I wanted things to work out between them, but obstacles were being thrown at them.   This is one story that I will remember

Mystery award winning author Sara Diamond cannot believe her career seems over at thirty-five as her publishing company has dumped her for lack of sales growth. Steady reasonable profit means nothing in this industry. To save money, she sells her house and takes an apartment in nearby San Francisco.

Her new neighbor Ryan Kinsmore is a hunk ten years her junior, but both are attracted to one another at first sight. As she makes covert overtures, Sara wonders if her kind neighbor is gay or is too polite to tell her she is too old for intimacy with him. The truth is that Ryan desires her as much as she does him, but refuses to touch her. He fears that once she learns the truth that he is not a model as he told her, but instead works as an escort, a euphemism in his case for male prostitute that will destroy their friendship let alone any romance.

Readers will feel the sexual tension shooting between the lead couple, but also understand that Ryan cannot allow anything to happen between them because of his job. It is interesting the way the two protagonists have a common subplot and distinct separate subplots that all blend together into a powerful character driven story. Whereas Sara is more typical of the genre, Ryan is a unique player who must find a way to rise once he falls from grace when his beloved learns the truth.

Without giving too much of the book away, let me just say that at first I was wary to read a book about a male prostitute, but after thinking it over for a while, I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did. This was one of the most poignant stories of unconditional love, friendship, and forgiveness that I have ever read. The redemption of the hero's character is something unlike I've ever seen in a romance novel. Any of you out there who know anything about writing romance know that CONFLICT is where it's at. Every writing seminar I've even been to has pushed me to ask myself 'How can I up the stakes?', 'How can I make it EVEN worse for my characters?' The end is so much more satisfying when we do that. And Laura Leone's book does it in spades. She pens for us a beautiful story of one man's struggle to become worthy and the woman who knows he already is. Simply beautiful, and so worth the time it takes to read it.

This is a read that will pierce your sense of morality versus romance. At times I thought this should read, `Fallen From Social Grace¿ because it deals with the side of life that many of us have not personally experienced yet do empathize with those who overcame growing up on the rough side of the tracks. The main plot is a romance story of an apparent washed-up writer and older woman, Sara, and a handsomely sexy younger male prostitute and truly tortured hero, Ryan. The subplot deals with a distressing look at the dark humiliating actions inflicted by successful people who exploit less than fortunate males (particularly for this story) who are in dire need to survive on the dangerous streets of San Francisco. Ryan was one of these young males: a runaway who would do just about anything to obtain money to eat. However, sadly enough, one night after performing a `highly paid¿ intimate act on a man, his `trick¿ brutally rapes him and leaves him for dead in a dark alley. Alas, his only true friend comes to his rescue ¿ a high class female ¿solicitor¿ who takes personal interest in grooming him for a career in prostitution; thus, giving him the name of ¿Kevin¿. Years later Ryan meets a new next door neighbor, Sara. During the beginning of their budding relationship, Sara believes Ryan is a professional ¿model¿ and is away from home so much due to his photo shoots. Eventually Sara finds out his true occupation, Kevin, and is morally and emotionally challenged to accept or reject him. She is in an emotional whirlwind because now a family secret is about to be revealed, which will cause her to struggle even more with or compromise her deeply rooted social beliefs and unconditional love in acceptance of others. This is an emotionally stirring and compelling read vs romantic. Although it was a tear jerker for me, it has a happy ending which ties together both of the main characters rather nicely.

Kudos to Ms. Leone for breaking the mold on the 'safe,' light-hearted romances so prevalent in the market today and giving us a meaty, moving read filled with deep, genuine conflict which both characters must overcome to find love. This book approaches serious issues and recognizes that life is not always pretty, but that love can shine through the dark clouds in one's life. Thank you, Ms. Leone, for a gripping, very moving story!
