Meet the Author

Jennifer Ryan is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Hunted series and the McBride series. She writes romantic suspense and contemporary small-town romances featuring strong men and equally resilient women. Her stories are filled with love, friendship, and the happily-ever-after we all hope to find. Jennifer lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, three children, dog (Bella), and cat (Shadow). When she isn't writing a book, she's reading one. Her obsession with both is often revealed in the state of her home and in how late dinner is to the table. When she finally leaves those fictional worlds, you'll find her in the garden, playing in the dirt and daydreaming about people who live only in her head, until she puts them on paper.

    Enjoyed the story!

269pgs...good read. Action, drama, and romance...just like her 'hunted' series. I had a feeling who the bad guy was, but there were parts that surprised me and kept me guessing. I am looking forward to reading her future books!

Claire finds herself in harms way when a crazy man mistakes her

Claire finds herself in harms way when a crazy man mistakes her address for another persons. The man is really after Owen for helping his wife get a divorce and for putting him in jail. While Claire hasn't had the best of luck with good looking men. Her ex husband did her bad and she finds it hard to trust. Owen however makes her rethink her thoughts. Owen has always noticed his neighbor and while he wish the reason for them getting to know each was better he jumps at the chance to know her. Even while a crazy person is out to harm Claire they begin to fall in love.

Claire is starting her life over and is doing a good job at it. She has a wonderful shop and is slowly beginning to get her house in shape. She doesn't like to depend on a man to do things for her. While she is slow to trust she does start to let her guard down for Owen. I like how she is a hard worker and she remembers the little things about those around her. Owen is sexy lawyer who thinks he has done a few bad things in is past. However he is a sweetheart and very protective of those he cares about. If he has a fault I would say it is he is blind sometimes to those close to him and doesn't see the bad in them.

I have to say this book has the perfect title. It isn't hard at all to fall for Owen and anyone who reads this book will do so. With danger, love, caring and so much more I really hated to see it end. Claire and Owen are a perfect match and I love seeing them together. They have a lot to deal with and it could have easily tore them apart but instead it pushes them together. There is the hot scenes that are perfectly placed in the book and only add to the delight that this book is. It is the little things I noticed in this book that made it so great and show the author truly cares about her characters. From the cat that just has to stand around to make sure things are ok to the details about the shop and houses a lot of thought and love went into this book. There is the element of danger and while I did figure out what was going on I was still surprised by how far the bad guy was willing to go. I fell in love with not just Owen but all the characters. I can't wait to see more of these people and I am now a huge fan of this authors.

Second McBride brother is just as hot as the first... Loved this story even though I did figure out "who done it" before I was supposed to... Owen is just too nice and Claire is perfect for his life... Can't wait for the next book in the series... Author handles very hot romance with a lot of class..

I really enjoyed this book.  I liked the continuation of story from the first book, even though this stands on it's own.  Can't wait for the next.

I read the first book in the series and completely fell in love

I read the first book in the series and completely fell in love with Brody. I was equally thrilled to find out the next book would be about Owen, Brody’s older brother. I think what endears the McBrides to me the most is that both men have had troubled pasts filled with many mistakes, but those same mistakes have shaped them into better men. They are still far from perfect, but their strength and determination to be better really tugs at my heart.

Owen has seen Claire at her coffee shop and on occasion when he stops to pick up his mail in front of her house. Owen has been curious about the beautiful blonde but has been hesitant to make a move on her. Claire and Owen meet again at Claire’s home as police are called to investigate an attack. Owen’s concern for Claire’s health and well-being swiftly blossoms into friendship and an even swifter love. Has fate finally smiled upon the two or is this dangerous mishap the calm before the storm?

I just love small town books and this one is no exception. Owen is a complete dream and I love how patient he was with Claire in dealing with her emotional baggage. I also thought Claire was justified in her less than stellar feelings towards Owen when one of his female clients kept getting a little too touchy feely with him. I didn’t think Owen was firm enough in letting the client know that she was strictly his client and there would be no relationship. Owen was just too sweet and didn’t want to hurt her feelings. Claire was more understanding that I would have been.

I really loved reading about Rain and Brody in the book and seeing how their happily ever turned out. I also enjoyed more page time with Dylan, Owen and Brody’s cousin and also the sheriff. The author left set his storyline up with a lot of unanswered questions that will have readers excited about Dylan’s book. There is a mystery surrounding a woman from Dylan’s past that I’m looking forward to unraveling as well as finding out how he ended up with his adoptive son, Will.

Another 5 Star read from Jennifer Ryan!

    Very good reading.

After reading the first in the series, it was good to be able to see just what Owen was all about and he was really good. The story was captivating and thoroughly enjoyable.
