fun and light story. i've been in school plays and stuff like this happens behind the scenes, so i liked that. i also liked the pride and prejudice part. and john's family problems were fresh and different. i recommend for middle grade up thru high school. i wish guys were more like john.

    Disappointing

The book was only so-so. I found that I didn't really care about any of the characters. John was supposed to be so beloved in the school and yet I couldn't exactly figure out why and I didn't buy that Mr. Popular Superstar would have only kissed 2 girls in his life. Jenn was constantly acting petty and rude to John for really no reason other than that she didn't want to accept that she liked him and for that her reactions seemed overboard.

The editing was awful. A lot of sentences seemed to be missing words, that although they didn't effect the story, made me stumble and backtrack to see if I had missed something. There were also sentences that looked like they had been rewritten, but bits and pieces of the old sentences were accidentally left in.

The most glaring error was in a scene where the class was debating the part in Pride and Prejudice where one of the sisters runs off with a guy, but throughout the debate they were saying it was Kitty and Kitty definately did not elope in P&P, Lydia did. A fact checker or some elementary knowledge of P&P would have been useful.

While not a bad thing, but a bit unbelievable, everytime they were talking about how realistic their play had to be, I kept thinking "Oh please." I could get past them spending tons of money renting authentic period costumes (not something that would have happened in my drama class, but easy enough to understand), but letting the kids use real rapiers, just for authenticity, yeah right. Even if they did sign waivers, I doubt that would happen.

    High Five

Jennifer is now in my top 5 favorite Authors, I don't quite know what makes her so wonderful. Maybe it's the way her characters connect. John and Jenn connected on so many levels you could really feel the push and pulls between the two. You know when you get those flutters in your stomach? This book did it for me. Jenn was so stubborn and real. I could imagine being her. John was actually like someone I knew growing up. Falling for Romeo was amazing and funny. I literally laughed out loud.

If I could give Jennifer Laurens a high five I would (I know it's not cool BUT I DON'T Care)

    Falling for a Fun Read

I fell in love with this book, in love with the characters, and in love with the story. Jennifer Laurens has an unusual way of drawing you in and keeping you until the very end.

John is the boy the has everything. Jennifer's his next store neighbor ex best friend who has never been kissed. They are both cast as Romeo and Juliet in the School play.

They soon start falling for each other. And you find yourself laughing, rooting for, and really feeling for the characters. If you love great characters, you'll love Jennifer Laurens. And you'll fall for Romeo too.
