What happens when Mr. Slow and Steady…

The forecast is smooth sailing for Oliver Chancellor, scion of Galveston’s premier financier. Destined to take his place in the hallowed marble corridors of his family’s bank, Chance is content with the future that’s been mapped out for him, right down to his upcoming engagement to a prim debutante enthusiastically approved by his socialite mother.

Finds himself on a collision course…

But when beautiful Rory St. Claire crosses his path, Chance recklessly plunges into uncharted territory with nothing but his heart to guide him-and a beautiful woman to tempt him…

With Ms. Full-Speed-Ahead?

Propelled by a lifelong goal to buy the island home reportedly haunted by her colorful ancestors, Rory desperately needs Chance’s help in securing a business loan, and she won’t take no for an answer. In the midst of convincing the hesitant blue blood to take a chance on her dream, Rory unexpectedly lands in Chance’s arms, stunned by his red-blooded passion-and her own awakened desire. Now, the mismatched pair can’t keep their hands off one another, and something tells Rory she’s headed for trouble-trouble in the name of love…

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Oliver Chancellor is a blue-blooded banker whose perfectly orchestrated life plan includes a comfortable career and a socially prominent (if not very exciting) future wife. Then sexy Aurora St. Claire enlists him to help her obtain financing for her dream: turning a mysterious Galveston mansion, which is part of her colorful family heritage, into a bed and breakfast. Passion ignites over the loan application, but Chance can't see impetuous, earthy and iconoclastic Rory fitting into his orderly existence. Meanwhile, Rory discovers that she's fallen in love with Chance and become pregnant, neither of which she's ready to admit to this unavailable man. Only when Chance becomes a partner in the inn and begins to see the emptiness of his glittering future can the couple come together in a happy ending that arrives after just the right amount of drama. A legend of a long-ago love and haunting runs throughout the book, adding a nice touch of melancholy to a tale as sunny as its Texas setting. With its well-balanced blend of comic exaggeration and genuine heart, Ortolon's story is a light but thoroughly satisfying romantic confection. (Apr.) Forecast: A relative newcomer to the genre, Ortolon is just beginning to gain a foothold in the market, but the cartoon-like cover won't help this book's sales any. Her latest may find its niche, however, if it's displayed with similar works, like Rachel Gibson's Lola Carlyle Reveals All or Susan Andersen's Head over Heels. From the Publisher
"An author on the rise...endearing, emotional, and romantic!"—Romantic Times
Romance Reviews
I hadn’t realized what a wonderful knack [Ortolon] has for building her characters and putting them into real-life situations. Nor what depths of emotions I’d find in Falling for You. If the sexual tension alone is not enough to keep you reading, there is excitement in watching the plans for the Pearl Island B&B go forth.
All About Romance
I had a blast reading Falling for You… As long as Julie Ortolon is writing books like this, romantic comedy is in good hands.
Old Barn Gazette
A thoroughly delightful, fast-paced romance about what happens when opposites attract. And the setting is so vividly drawn, you feel part of the surroundings. A lovely story!
Book Huntress
Full of humor… Very entertaining and well worth your time!

Meet the Author

Reviewers from Publisher’s Weekly to Romantic Times have praised Julie Ortolon’s contemporary romance novels for being “sizzling,” “fast-paced,” and “filled with genuine heart.” Numerous awards for her work include two Bookseller’s Best Awards. Almost Perfect, book one of her Perfect trilogy was a Rita finalist and was named Best Single Title Contemporary by the readers of Affaire de Coeur magazine.Julie’s road to success as a romance novelist was a bit bumpier than most authors, however. Her struggle with dyslexia left her functionally illiterate until her mid twenties when she discovered romance novels were worth the effort. To turn her favorite pastime, daydreaming emotionally rich stories, into a career, she taught herself to read, type, and use English as a written language, not just a spoken one. Her struggles made hitting the USA Today bestsellers list with her first title even more rewarding. As a romance author living in Austin, Texas, Julie enjoys gardening, cooking, and painting in the mountains outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. lively delightful contemporary romance

In Galveston Bay, Texas boat tour guide Aurora ¿Rory¿ St. Claire notices a ¿For Sale¿ sign on the Pearl Island property once owned by her ancestor. She wants the place to open up a bed and breakfast. She asks the son of a local banker, Oliver ¿Chance¿ Chancellor, for information. He tells her that the national bank that bought out his father has foreclosed on the property. Rory tells Chance about her dream. Feeling as if a whirlwind has engulfed him, Chance agrees to help her though he worries over his feeling of lust for Rory as his family expects him to marry childhood friend Paige Baxter.
Rory enlists her siblings Adrian and Allison to join with her as their desires can be met too. Adrian can become his own person and Allison can work on decorating. Over the next few weeks, Rory and Chance work on her dream even as they fall in love. However, Chance has always been the dutiful son and Rory is forbidden fruits. Paige is expected to be his wife even if his own mother demands he marry for love not a misguided obligation.
Rory and Chance make FALLING FOR YOU a lively delightful contemporary romance of two opposites falling in love. The story line is fun as the readers are caught up in the frantic activity led by Rory, a dynamic perpetual machine. Though some of the secondary charcaters seem inconsistent, the fact that Paige is a nice person not a nasty witch adds depth to Julie Ortolon¿s charming vivacious tale.
Harriet Klausner

    Sweet

It was a sweet romance, great writing and realistic characters. Did tend to drag out in several spots. Could have wrapped up in under 300 pages, found myself skipping several pages at a time.

    Texas

I love that I knew exactly where this author was talking about. I had to read the rest of the series. An amazing author and story line. The book has like over 500 pages but I could never put it down, I wanted to get to the end.

    Hello

If having the house has always been her dream, why hasn't she at least partially planned to make it a possibility? Woman is a flake; excerpt is enough, don't need to buy the book.

    SO CUTE!

Loved the book! I was irritated how the author has the main character run off during an important dinner she's hosting sniveling like a 12year old who had a fight with a friend! Was the only irritating part for me....just not a woe is me person! Loved the story!!!

    Do you ever wonder...? READ

Do you ever wonder, if someone somewhere in the world could be in the same position you happen to be in? I wish that stranger a very much needed good luck in my case! I am not a self absorbed person, i just need to vent. Im 15, and ive fallen in love with a guy whose 17...Andres...we met through an app, ( hey dont judge, people marry complete strangers on dating sites! ) its a distance between us, he live in florida, im in texas. My family and best friend are completely against me talking to him, but being me, i dont listen to them, so ive risked alot to talk to him. We nt ever really have the time to talk anymore...its rare that we do. But when we do talk...its a if we have talked, like there was never a gap of time...i remember the skype calls we made, i dont believe i had ever blushed until then...Do YOU ever think of this? Of strangers who could be in YOUR position? The more complicated your situation is, the less you believe someone else is having the same problem as you.
