Overview

Mature YA (17+) / New Adult / Coming of Age
Some mild language and sexual content.

Finally! A private conversation. And all I had to do was throw myself off a cliff, drown in a pond in my undies and let him put his hands on my breasts to bring me back to life. Yay me! (yeah, that’s sarcasm)

Yep, that pretty much sums up the most craptastic night of Jenna Baker’s life. She drowns after jumping off a cliff, meets a hotty named Chance in the pearlescent in-between and is brought back to life by her soon-to-be boyfriend Robert.

Just when things start to move forward with Robert, the guy she'd been crushing on for a year now, in walks the man of her dreams – literally. Chance suddenly appears in her dream every time she closes her eyes. So it's Robert by day and Chance by night. One in the real world and one in the dream world. What could possibly go wrong?

Absolutely nothing – until she comes face to face with the guy she met in the in-between, and realizes her romantic rendezvous with Chance may be more than just her imagination.

Mature YA. 17+. Some mild language and sexual content.

    Just Wow

5 stars all the way. This had depth great writing and characters. Normally I'd write some sort of summary but by no means do i want to give any of this away. Just believe me you'll be glad to read this. And i was surprised with the ending which in my opinion is a good thing.

    Loved it!

I couldn't put this book down! It was so good and I wanted to see what was going to happen and how everything played out! I'll admit that the ending made me frustrated because I was rooting for the other guy. I won't say more because I don't like to spoil anything but this book is a must read!
And yes this book has sexual content but the summary did have a warning that it was meant for mature audiences meaning teenagers in senior year of high school and up.

    Sexy read!

I’d like to thank Devon Ashley for giving me the opportunity to take part in her blog tour. So THANK YOU!

I’ll admit I didn’t get into this book until the second time we met Chance. You know the one I’m talking about? When he’s playing soccer and Jenna gets hit in the head with the soccer ball? Yeah, that one. Chance was very frisky and flirty. The perfect dream boy and I literally mean dream because that’s the only time he saw him. Everyone needs some lovin’ right? Even dream boys.

Then we have Robert. Jenna’s real life crush-turned-boyfriend. He’s pretty amazing. Definitely swoon-worthy too. He treats Jenna great and isn’t pushy with the intimate side of their relationship which gave him brownie points in my book.

My heart ached for Jenna when she came face-to-face with Chance in real life. Why you ask? Because a part of her loved both Chance and Robert. How do you choose between two real life guys who both have a piece of your heart? I couldn’t even tell you who I wanted Jenna to be with because I like both guys for very different reasons.

I thought Falling In Between had a great ending that set us up for the second book. I’m dying to know how it’ll play out. Even though in the end of this book she did choose who she wanted to be with, I’m curious as to who her heart will truly belong to.

    Courtesy of Letters Inside Out

I picked up Falling in Between and not really sure what to expect. At first I figured it’d be sad – hello, she “dies” and considering my current state of mind that’s not really a good thing. Then I wondered if it’d be cheesy, which is honestly what I was craving at the time. I went ahead and tried it only to be pleasantly surprised that it’s not that at all.

Jenna’s lived her life as a ward of the state. As the result, she’s led a pretty closed off life, she earned a scholarship to a rich prep school. The only one who knows the truth is her roommate.

After the fateful, crappy night…she now has a new boyfriend (the hottie she’s been crushing on!!!) and keeps getting visited in her dreams by a completely different cutie. I have to say, I loved the characters. Jenna is a realistic voice and while you feel for her for being an orphan, she’s not whiny. Let’s face it, that often happens…a character has something “wrong” and she/he has long inner-monologues about how they cannot believe how miserable life is.

Both guys were just great and so completely different. I can’t really go into much detail without spoiling things, but I will say each had many pluses. (Why aren’t there boys like this in ‘real life’?)

I think my favorite characters were the best friends – Sophie and Jhett. I love them! Each offers a bit of comedic value that the story desperately needed to break it up a bit.

I’m honestly not sure how to classify Falling in Between, romance lovers are going to be pleased. There obviously is a love triangle, but it wasn’t your typical love triangle…it was rather enjoyable and suspenseful for me. There is also the whole dream-aspect that will keep you guessing though..just what is actually going on?

Warning Note: Falling in Between is mature – there is sexual content and a little language. So be warned if that sort of thing bothers you!

A book about teens that is NOT for teens!!

This book had no breath or depth of story or characters. The entire book was about two high school teens attending private school running around have sex, talking about sex, or dreaming about sex. It was quite graphic and not appropriate for a teen crowd. This is one book to avoid!!

Soooo this review is a tad overdue mostly because I wasn't sure

Soooo this review is a tad overdue mostly because I wasn't sure what I wanted to say. Falling In Between is my second run with Ms. Ashley. Since I very much enjoyed my first read Nearly Broken, of course I had to give this a try. Unfortunately, I didn’t fall in love with Falling In Between which is ok I guess. I mean I do realize I will not have the same experience with every book, but I’m still struggling with the truth of that. Anyhow if you’re a fan of mind trips than this is the one for you.
So after believing jumping off a cliff would be a wise idea Jenna almost drowns and finds herself in this strange limbo state. While in the limbo state she meets Chance and of course he’s a hottie;  just as the two are headed towards the”light” Jenna is brought back to the real world by Robert. Robert is also a cutie that Jenna has a crush on.
Jenna was cliché she was very educated, pretty to everyone except herself, and super focused. Most of all flighty. After being saved by Robert they almost immediately become a couple. I liked Robert he was sweet, respectable, adorable, patient, and basically everything that one would want from a boyfriend. Then at night when Jenna went to sleep she was with Chance and those two were a pair of horny rabbits. Chance is nothing like Robert. He’s cocky, In Jenna’s mind she of course didn’t think she was cheating because it was a dream, but in my mind it was cheating.
Overall I liked Falling In Between , but at the same time I feel like I didn’t get anything from it so I guess I will have to read Falling Away and Falling Upward to get more insight on this series.
**Huge thanks to the author for providing me with an arc copy in exchange for my honest opinion**

    Sexy & Original!

This was a refreshing, original read that I thoroughly enjoyed and read really fast! I loved Jenna and how real her and the cast of characters were. The sexual content was written tastefully (even the terms some might consider vulgar) and not once did I wince, roll my eyes or feel like I was reading a sexual book rather than a great book that included sex. There's a huge difference! And I have to admit, I blushed numerous times.

But mostly this book made me smile, A LOT.

And I really dug the whole idea that Devon Ashley created behind the character, Chance, and appreciate how different it was from anything else I've read. Kudos! The writing style, written in first person narrative, was right on key, totally believable and I truly felt like I was in right there with the two hot frickin' guys, Robert and Chance, and Jenna's crazy best friend, Sophie. Ashley definitely knows how to paint a picture with words and I absolutely loved this book.

I'm anxious to read book two!

I would recommend this for readers 17 and older, due to the sexual content.

I like this book but I don't know. It seems like it needs a little more. She had a boyfriend at school and a boyfriend in her dreams. Majority of the story involves her hooking up with one more than the other. I don't know what I needed more of but it just does need it. Hopefully the next book would do it for me.

    Disappointing.

The overall writing and feel of the book was fantastic, but I was incredibly disappointed by the choice at the end. It seriously let me down.
