Meet the Author

Barbara Dan admits to a variety of life experiences, including working as an actress, model, night club comedienne, comedy writer, puppeteer, Hollywood theatrical producer, screenwriter, real estate sales and escrow officer, hands-on builder of houses, taught special needs kids in public school, led couples communications workshops with her family therapist husband, and was publisher, editor and an adjunct professsor (Writing for Media).
By far her biggest challenge was raising a family of four now grown children, being grandma of five, and recently became a great-grandmother.
She is a voracious reader of history, loves quilting, cooking, gardening, painting, travel, tracking genealogies, and prowling around in old graveyards and museums to research her novels.
She is a member of Women Writing the West and Western Writers of America, has degrees in Theatre Arts and Accounting, and an M.A. in Humanities from Cal State University, buit feels that life experience is the most valuable tool any writer brings to his or her work. (A good sense of humor helps, too!)
