Photographer Kimberly Wassenberg brings these families to life.

Family Makers has brought me to tears and given me a sense of peace. I would have liked to have read this 30 years ago when my daughter was born. Reading the stories would have assisted me while raising my handicapped daughter. The stories are touching. They gave me a sense of the heartbreak and joy that parents go through regarding their child's handicap. Kimberly Wassenberg's photos are wonderful and bring the families to life for the reader. They add a dimension to the book by showing the love and caring the families share in having these children. I would recommend this book to anyone, not just families with down syndrome children. It is inspirational.

Kimberley Wassenberg's photography is truly awesome

The stories are heartfelt and wonderful... Kimberley Wassenberg's images clearly make the stories come to life and give the reader a sense of 'being there' and a feeling of knowing the children and the parents. She really has a rare ability to capture the human spirit in the phographic images she creates. This is a book well worth reading and viewing, over and over as well as sharing it with family and friends.

The photographs are delightful and capture wonderful kid and family moments. More importantly, each family shares an incredible story that is very inspirational. The book and photographs touched my heart!

Truly inspirational, a wonderful book on awareness.

This book brought me to tears. The pictures are beautiful and the stories of these families are so positive and uplifting. My son is best friends with one of the children described in this book. We are blessed to have this child and his family in our lives. Every medical professional and teaching facility should have this in their office. It brings out the positive aspect of Down Syndrome and reality that these children, who will soon be adults, are really like you and me.
