What can I say in words to express the emotions I felt reading this book? I think the highest praise I could give would be it was glued to my hands. I couldn't put it down. Its a quick book to read so do yourselves a favor, buy it, enjoy it, read it again and tell your friends about it. It's that good! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. As a child of the 80's, I can tell you it brought back a lot of memories! My daughter, 15 read the book, and she read it again! I think it's the only book I have ever seen her finish, let alone read twice. The girl does not like to read and she loved this book! Wendy is a quick and witty writer, and she goes right for those heartstrings. I was immediately in love with the way that Fancy thinks. When my son turns 12, I'm going to have him read it, so he's prepared for the world of predatory girls! A must read for all ages!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I remember moving to a new school and having trouble making friends. The characters in this wonderful young adult novel brought back a lot of memories of my own time in school. (Good and bad.) Best of all, the characters are so well-defined I'd swear that they were real and all friends of my own daughters! High fives for this amazing read! Was this review helpful? This was a blast from the past for me as an adult but my daughter enjoyed it as much as I did! The timelessness of those teenage years is prevalent in the cross generational appeal of young Fancy Adams. Ms. Van Horn has managed to squeeze a lot into such a quick read. Young readers will increase their vocabulary and receive a message in short time from a very rebellious main character. Fancy is a character to follow and introduce to your daughters or sons for that matter (but don't forget to enjoy her yourself). I look forward to a future filled with more from this very talented writer. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
