Meet the Author

Wendy Van Horn Hauver has been a writer since the dawn of time, or at least since the first time she figured out how to put letters together to form words. At the ripe ole age of 10, she was an avid poet and her parents, Leslie and Donna, had the foresight to provide her with her first typewriter at the age of 12.

Blah, blah, blah... a long carer in writing endeavors followed... won the Phi Theta Kappa Short story award in the State of Florida for her story "Death of a Telemarketer," (she swears it was fiction)... more writing projects...

She finally resolved to do her best to pass on her ardor for the written word to the youth of today, and is currently a teacher in Pasco County, Florida. Her 6th grade students describe her as "an awesome genuis and a hard worker, who is a bit of a neat freak and very caring and generous (oh, stop, she's blushing)." Watching the social struggles of the students around her, Wendy was reminded of her own trials and tribulations in life and she was inspired to share her own story, in her own - somewhat twisted and humorous - way. Thus Fancy was born.

Wendy lives in Lutz, Florida with her family, three horribly un-cute dogs, and a pretty cool bird.
