Bought these for my five year old grand daughter for Christmas and she loves them- as do all her friends. They all have themes that she can relate to and are on her reading level. The illustrations are colorful and fun. Best of all they encouage little girls to be individuals and to express themselves.

These are cute picture books for reading to kids. As emergent readers Level 1, they're not so great (why only 3 stars). The books are lengthy and far to difficult for any child who is just learning to read. My 5.5 year old can't anywhere close to read them, but she still loved the stories!

Fun and entertaining for young girls. We enjoy learning some new French words in each book. Bonjour!

We bought this with an excellent coupon from B&N website! It was a Christmas gift for our 4 yr old. She is learning to sight read and sounding out words. It comes with 5 beginning reading books. In her word," I like them, I like all of them, they're pretty excellent!" Yup she just said that. They have the fancy list of words in each book which I love using in sentences for my daughter and she loves saying them :) So I would reccomend this for prek-kindergarten aged girls.

I bought this as a gift for my 4 year old who is learning to read. She absolutely loves it. The books are still a bit advanced for her but they keep her attention and encourage her to continue to learn to read. She asks to help read them each night before bed.
