We are all fans. Whether we log on to Web sites to scrutinize the latest plot turns in Lost, “stalk” our favorite celebrities on Gawker, attend gaming conventions, or simply wait with bated breath for the newest Harry Potter novel—each of us is a fan. Fandom extends beyond television and film to literature, opera, sports, and pop music, and encompasses both high and low culture.
Fandom brings together leading scholars to examine fans, their practices, and their favorite texts. This unparalleled selection of original essays examines instances across the spectrum of modern cultural consumption from Karl Marx to Paris Hilton, Buffy the Vampire Slayer to backyard wrestling, Bach fugues to Bollywood cinema¸ and nineteenth-century concert halls to computer gaming. Contributors examine fans of high cultural texts and genres, the spaces of fandom, fandom around the globe, the impact of new technologies on fandom, and the legal and historical contexts of fan activity. Fandom is key to understanding modern life in our increasingly mediated and globalized world.

This story is amazing. Lily is my fav character. If u want to read go ahead its awesome
Letter 5 Dear Anyone, From letter 4, I talked about that lake party. Ayways, Timothy danced with me, it was all good before his waffley tw.at of friend came up to me and said,"Hiya, Im Cayden. I see youre enjoying the party?" I smiled and told him,"Yeah, its fun, I guess. But it looks like no one else is gaving fun." And then I frowned at that last part. Cayden replied,"Thats bcause someone unwanted is here." He scowled and led me over to the docks, continuing the unwabted persn talk. I really didnt pay attention until,"And that unwanted person is you." Then Cayden pushed me off the dock and into the muddy, mosquito larvae infested shallows. I stood up soaking wet and dirty. (In case youre wondering, yes this was the boy frim earlier) Everyone pointed and laughed at me. I should have known the white jacjet was a bad idea. I struggled to get out of the water and get myself dry, and Timothy, the sweet guy, came over and helped me out. I smiled and muttered a thanks. But then I heard,"Cay! Why didnt you say you were doing this? Everyone knows Im the best pusher!" And he pushed me back in. Then everyone left the scene and Ibwas left there, sputtering water and drowning in my own tears. I really just wanted to die. This much embarressment could have killed me. But then, I heard several clicks and a girl standing over me. It was Lily and she helped me up. "Hey re you okay?" She asked as she led me to a friend's car. One of her friends, whose name I think was Millie, owned the car and allowed me to be driven home with Lily and her group of friends. When I got out, I was shivering but smiling because today, REAL FRIENDS showed up. "Thanks for the ride, Millie," I said. "No problem. Hey, maybe we all can hang out after school." She gestured to the remaning three girls (including Lily) in the back seat. I smiled and nodded as they drove home. I remember thinking to myself,"Only what, a gazillion more days ubtil the end of school? This is going to be one heck of a year in he<_>ll." Love, Justine P.S. I bet youre wondering where the other letters are. And who Anyone is. Well, Anyone is anyone, and I take each of the letters seperately, stuff them in a glass bottle, and take it out to the beach 45 minutes away, and hide them there. I do this each week.
