Children's LiteratureReed and Ben are brilliant scientists who want to study in space to cure disease. Victor Von Doom agrees to finance and join the mission to gain publicity for his company. Sue Storm and her brother, Johnny, also join the mission. Everyone—except Victor—helps save Ben from a dangerous situation outside the shuttle. Ben is hurt and the ship is damaged so they must return to earth. While Ben recovers on earth, Johnny is the first to notice he has unusual powers. Soon the entire crew realizes they were changed in space. Victor becomes "Dr. Doom" and uses his powers for evil. The rest are called the "Fantastic Four" because they use their powers to help people and they combine their powers to overthrow Dr. Doom. This story is accompanied by captivating photographs from the movie. Science curricula can easily be connected to the plot even though it is science fiction. There are numerous references to space and scientific experiments.
