VERY ENTERTAINING read regardless of your interest in farming.

I am currently only halfway through this book and it has done nothing but entertain my inner humor about the vast differences between people in today's society. I will admit that I have ZERO interest in farming, yet I have been absolutely absorbed by the writing and insight that Bender unleashes on his readers. The subtle comedy in this book, whether it is about unique "hippy families", or Benders descriptive narration about the various farms is very captivating. Whether you are truly interested in organic farming, or if you typically spend the weekend drinking a beer and watching football, this read is an absolute delight for all!

    Not just for farmers...

If you've ever had the slightest thought of packing up all your belongings and trying something new BUT didn't have the courage to do it, you must read this book! Bender takes us on his journey across the United States and introduces us to the hardworking, yet simple workers and farmers of our great country. The book is extremely well written, honest, and humorous; however, you will be left with knowledge and a greater inspiration to re-examine your life as you know it.
