I Think You Know What You Need To Do

***Intended For Adult Audiences***

This is a novelette of about 10,000 words that is Part 8 of 8 in a Paranormal BDSM erotica romance series.

Julia holds an open house in her gallery during the monthly art walk and receives accolades from friends, family, and strangers. Even her high school art teacher arrives to tell her how astoundingly she has grown as an artist.

After the open house, Julia has to finally pound the pavement and take her portfolio to her short list of appropriate galleries. Most of the curators she speaks to are encouraging but don’t think it is a good match.

Finally, she makes it to the last gallery on her list who is a perfect match. The curator seems really excited by Julia’s work, but when she finds out Julia doesn’t have the right credentials, she tells her to go work with an outsider gallery for self-taught artists.

Julia is mortified and goes home to hide in bed. Alexi tells her to stop acting childish and to sue the power she has. Julia is not so sure she wants to use her power to get into a gallery.

When she makes her mind up to get what she wants. The results are 100 times better than anything she could have imagined.

While dealing with having her mind blown, she runs into Eva on the street. Eva tells Julia she’s going to skip town to get away from the demon who is following her. Before Julia lets her leave, she takes her shopping for clothes, buys her a phone and gives her a car.

Alexi calls to tell her to come home. When she gets there, he has a surprise that will change her life forever.

Excerpt from Fascinated

“You over complicate things. You have a gift. Why not use it? It is no different from your painting or anything else. You think people in America are too good to use your power on, yet people in my country are not?”

“NO! No. That isn’t it. I don’t think… It’s just. Things are different here. It’s like there, I was dreaming. It was like a dream. Here I’m awake. It’s real life. I wish you could understand.”

He sighed and stood up, gazing down at me from the edge of the couch. I curled my legs up underneath me and stared at the tea cup I cradled in my hands.

“I suppose I do. I feel a little like I am dreaming now, myself.”

I exhaled with relief. The culture shock of Eastern Europe and Russia was intense. I guess I had just assumed he would be more comfortable here, like me. But he was probably feeling exactly like I had been feeling.

“Sorry.”

“Do not be sorry. I make my own decisions. I decided to come here for as long as you needed.”

I cleared my throat. This was the subject we’d been avoiding, or at least I was. I didn’t want to know if he planned to go back. I didn’t want to go back, not for good. And I didn’t want him to leave me here either.

“As long as I need for what?”

“For whatever you need. Obviously, I have to attend to my business. But I have some ideas that are not ready to share yet. I will tell you soon.”

“Oh.”

My heart thumped and the blood rushed from my limbs. I had to move my feet back to the floor and flex my toes. I set my cup on the table, stood, and moved into Alexi’s embrace, resting my head on his chest. He folded his arms around me and leaned in to kiss my forehead. I could feel his heart beating, nearly as loud as my own. It made me hug him tighter.

“Do what you must, my love. This is your world,” he whispered in my ear. The caress of his breath on my skin sent shivers down my neck. I lifted my head and moved into kiss his lips. He cupped my chin in his hand and stroked my cheek with his thumb as my tongue sought his, through parted lips.
