Overview

Amber Fox has been making too many mistakes, and something's got to give...

For starters, Amber accidentally shoots Chief Inspector Janice Skipper and gets thrown off the police force. Oops! Then, she accepts a job as an insurance investigator from her ex-fiancé, Brad Beckett. Only Brad thinks they've still got unfinished business in the romance department, making for a steamier working environment than Amber counted on. And when fashion designer, Umberto Fandango, goes missing, Amber's investigative skills are put to the ultimate test. Nothing about the case is what it seems, and to make matters worse Amber's arch-enemy, Chief Inspector Skipper, is also investigating the disappearance. If Amber wants her old job back, she's in a race against time to solve the mystery before Skipper does... all the while dodging her ex-fiancé, her own mixed up feelings, and a couple of crazy mobsters.

Who is Umberto Fandango? Is he dead? And can Amber stay one step ahead to stay alive?

Editorial Reviews

_ - The New Podler Review of Books
"Hodge created a lovely chick-lit/thriller storyline that reminds me of Charlaine Harris' Lily Bard mysteries that I love to eat up."
_ - Romantic Novelists' Association
"A witty well-paced romp, full of energy and with plenty of satisfying twists and turns."
_ - A Buckeye Girl Reads
"This is one of the best self published books I've read yet. There were just so many over the top and lol moments that it made me fall in love with Amber. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a mystery this much."

Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't F this & F that.  Does anyone ever finish a book and then say would have been great except for lack of F words?  The book is funny and enthralling, but I don't know if I will buy any more because of the language.

This was the first book I read by this author.  I really enjoyed it. The book  reminded me of the Stephanie Plum novels.  Trouble seems to find  Amber, and she has 2 men that are interested in her.  I had a hard time putting  the book down.  I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next.  I  will definitely buy more books by Sibel.

I love Lexi Graves and High Heels series. Amber Fox is now added to the list. I love how comedy, romance, drama and suspense is wrapped all together. Great read. Now off to read book 2.

I really liked the story line and characters but gave it only 3 stars for having the F word in it so many times.

Awesome, fun, fast read. Amber Fox is kind of a mess but not to the point that it's annoying. At several points I laughed out loud. I just finished this and am buying the second.

Love, love, love.  Sibel Hodge reminds me so much of Janet Evanovich.  Can't wait to read more of her work!

Really fun!  This author is entertaining.  The love triangle is reminisent of Evanovich, but love the British slant.
