There are some good common sense tips in this book but I have to disagree with the statement about how home gyms just won't cut it and you have to physically go to a place designed to make you sweat with people with "like minds". I have had a home gym for years and I have had excellent results with it. My home gym is in a designated place in a finished basement with an elliptical, a Body Solid weight machine, dumbbells, and a TV and stereo setup, etc. I used to belong to gyms for years and I learned the proper way to work out, breath and stretch and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. However, when I did belong to gyms, I used to catch the worst colds and flues, especially in the winter time. It is more convenient and healthier for me to use my home gym where I don't have to wait in line for equipment, I can watch whatever I want on TV, and I don't have to deal with gossipy numb-nuts and the "cruisy" social types I had to deal with in the gyms where I live. I like to socialize enough but my exercise time is my time and I don't want to mingle with or talk to other people during my workouts. If you get the right equipment and learn how to use it without killing yourself, a home gym is better than joining a gym and in the long run will pay for itself in not having to spend hundreds of dollars a year in dues and fees of a gym membership. If you have the space and the money I recommend getting a home gym where you can work out in privacy. I love my home gym and it has loved me back.

Useful tips for eating out and just living life without feeling guilty about eating with friends. Not really necessary to read from beginning to end to understand. Tips work in any order.
