"Forget everything you think you know about the direction of the American economy, about our growing need for foreign oil, about the rise of the service economy and the decline of American manufacturing. The story of the next thirty years will not be a repeat of the last thirty." One of the most respected voices on Wall Street, Meredith Whitney shot to global prominence in 2007 when her warnings of a looming crisis in the financial sector proved all too prescient. Now, in her first book, she expands upon her biggest call since the financial crisis.

This book did an exceptional job of going into detail on what led to the housing market crash and what's to come for the next thirty years. I will definitely recommend this book to other people.

This book does a good job of showing the impact of government pension plans on the everyday taxpayer. While this book is somewhat repetitious, the author reinforces her main points regarding why states are in either good or bad shape fiscally. If you need a good job, and can accept that you may need to stretch yourself by relocating to a different part of the country, this book gives very good reasons why you should leave poorly managed states. There are very good jobs waiting for you, and you will be better off financially. Use the new increase in your income to visit your friends and family "back home". Written so you do not need to be an economics professor to understand.
