Favorite Ballets by Brenda Sneathen Mattox/Best buy coloring book on favorite ballets!

I am a public school music teacher (K-8) in North Carolina in a very rural town (population: 620). Favorite Ballets allows me to give students a "worksheet" that gives them a sense of accessibility to ballet. The children enjoyed coloring the pages and the process of coloring helped them not to feel distant from the world of ballet. It is critically important for boys between the ages of 10-14 to view men in professions other than sports. The heroic nature of a "Prince" or "King" allows boys to develop a broader sense of masculinity. The girls "loved" the pictures! This activity was done while watching a performance of "The Swan Lake", "The Nutcracker" and The "Sleeping Beauty". The showing of these performances happened in December, March and May.

The drawings were detailed enough to present a challenge to students without being overwhelming. Plot summary captions with each picture were very instructive. Thanks for a great coloring book.
