In late 2000, pop songbird Mya's second album, Fear of Flying, was re-released with two different tracks, "Free" and "Again & Again." The tracks which were replaced were "For the First Time" and "No Tears on My Pillow." The final result is a much improved album. The two discarded songs were forgettable, tepid ballads, thankfully replaced with infinitely superior up-tempo numbers. Upon initial release, the album seemed to be suffering from the dreaded sophomore slump. The first single, "The Best of Me," arguably the best song on the album and one of the better pop songs of 2000, under-performed on the charts, not even making it into the pop Top 40. The follow-up, "Case of the Ex," proved to be a different matter. The label intelligently issued a commercial single for the song, which helped propel it to number two, and in turn solidified the album as a hit. As that song was riding high on the charts, the album was reissued with the different tracks. While the first version of the album was heavily weighted with tepid ballads, the second version is much livelier, and, in essence, much better. "Free" is a Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis composition, in a similar vein to Control-era Janet Jackson, and the album's third single, "Again & Again," is a rock-tinged song, adding much needed muscle to the album. The song order was changed, to much better results, because the ballads were saved for the first version's bitter end, leaving the listener lost and bored. So consumers and Mya fans beware -- to avoid unnecessary disappointment be sure to buy the second version of Fear of Flying.

What happened to sweet, innocent Mya? Where did she go? Wherever she went, she can stay there because this new Mya is even better. You go girl and tell it just like it is. This album is so good. My favorite song is Best of Me because it has Jadakiss on it. Case of the Ex is my next favorite song because it has a lot of truth to it. I know exactly where she's coming from on this song. Keep it up Mya. Hope the next one is as good as this one.

I think Mya is a very good artist. From the album Fear Of Flying, inspired my whole life.I feel like I felt what she felt.I've been through all the life stuggles. If I could I would just talk to her and tell her how much she's came up from her first album witch was really good too,but I've really stood up for this album. As an 18 year old female who loves music as much as I do.I would give up all my studio sessions if I could just meet her one time, because she changed my life in a way noone else could have.I'm a true fan and I love her.I hope she keeps up with all the hard work.5*'s -Joye Bell-

Mya is so awesome! I love her voice it¿s unique to me. I like Mya¿s sophomore album better then her first one. She has some great songs on there like ¿ Lie detector¿¿, `¿Case Of The Ex¿¿, `¿Best of Me¿¿, and `¿Fear Of Flying¿. Mya songs just have that beat that makes you want to just get up and dance, I love it. I love her last music video ¿Case Of The Ex¿ she had a great choreographer. Mya isn¿t afraid to be real, and sing what she feels, and I like that. I haven¿t yet seen her in concert but if I ever had the chance, I would go for it. Mya is getting stronger and stronger by each album she makes. I¿m hoping that one day I could be just like her. Making videos and people looking up to me, people listening to me songs for some kind of message or advice, like they do with hers. Her songs mean a lot to me and help me with different things that are going on in my life. I just want to take this time and thank Mya for everything she as done for me, and others out there in the world. THANK YOU MYA!! Much luv and keep doing your thing thing.
