In late 2000, pop songbird Mya's second album, Fear of Flying, was re-released with two different tracks, "Free" and "Again & Again." Upon initial release, the album seemed to be suffering from the dreaded sophomore slump. The first single, "The Best of Me," arguably the best song on the album and one of the better pop songs of 2000, under-performed on the charts, not even making it into the pop Top 40. The follow-up, "Case of the Ex," proved to be a different matter. The label intelligently issued a commercial single for the song, which helped propel it to number two, and in turn solidified the album as a hit. As that song was riding high on the charts, the album was reissued with the different tracks. While the first version of the album was heavily weighted with tepid ballads, the second version is much livelier, and, in essence, much better. "Free" is a Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis composition, in a similar vein to Control-era Janet Jackson, and the album's third single, "Again & Again," is a rock-tinged song, adding much needed muscle to the album. The song order was changed, to much better results, because the ballads were saved for the first version's bitter end, leaving the listener lost and bored. So consumers and Mya fans beware -- to avoid unnecessary disappointment be sure to buy the second version of Fear of Flying.

    Awesome

    Another great album from Mya. I love it. Fear Of Flying is awesome. If you don't like the kinda music she sings then don't buy the album, all the songs are great on this album. If you think the songs suck listen to them again. It's tight. I know her next album is gonna be off the hook!! Moodring is gonna be kool. I already heard of couple of songs off there and they're good so far. Mya, I love ya, and you're music is tight. Keep doing what ya do.

    SHE SINGS GREAT. YOU'VE GOT TO HEAR THIS ALBUM.I HOPE SHE COMES OUT WITH ANOTHER ALBUM SOON.

    The album is GREAT!

    Mya's "Fear of Flying" album is great. My favorite song on the album is "Man in My Life", the classic Michael Jackson song.

    Mya is a great singer and she has very good songs on the cd I recomend you buy it!

    Mya is on Fya!

    Mya is one of the best female artists out there. Not only can she dance, but she can definitely sing which shows on her album, ''Fear of Flying''. You go girl!

    gOOd vOcaLs , but need BETTER songs

    I really enjoy hearing Mya sing on her CD's, but I find her songs not that interesting as her voice does. I'm sure Mya can come up with better songs to make her voice even sound greater than it already does. I have to say, she has more songs on this CD I like more than her last CD. I like the fact on how she has more songs because I hate when CD's only have about ten to twelve songs. I also like this CD because she has a variety of songs. Some songs are fast, slow and just in the middle of fast and slow. I like to do cleaning around my house when hearing Mya's CD. The up beat and fast pace makes me work faster and actually want to clean. A few of her songs make me get real sentimental and think long thoughts in my head.
