One of the most unique voices in Christian music, Crystal Lewis is in top form on FEARLESS, her first release of new material since 1998's critically acclaimed GOLD. Few artists can straddle the Contemporary Christian/Gospel fence successfully, but Lewis beautifully blends pop, rock, R&B, gospel, and even rap elements, using her powerful vocals as a unifying element. Longtime friend/collaborator Kirk Franklin makes an appearance here, writing and producing the anthem "I Still Believe." Will you kiss and leave, or stay still and believe?" Lewis could be talking about a human relationship or one's spiritual life, but that's the point: Both require a certain measure of fearlessness. She may be FEARLESS, but on this collection Lewis is also smooth and easy, fun and funky -- just the way we like her. Lisa Zhito

Lewis proves her mettle once again with this well-produced offering. There are plenty of ear-catching tunes, but the one that stuck in this listener's head long afterwards is "What a Fool I've Been," the ninth track of twelve, and which includes some rapping by T-Bone and J-Raw of Priesthood. This song showcases her vocal range nicely without losing the pop sound. "Trust Me" is also excellent.

    Comments on Fearless

I love this albulm by Crystal Lewis. She is an awesome contemporary christian singer who is filled with spirituality. The simple title that describes this albulm also demonstrates her love for God. I think that the title of her albulm speaks of her faith in God. One must be ''fearless'' in taking steps in his or her christian walk. You should have faith in God that he has your life planned out for you and you should be willing to listen diligently to his guidance. When one can give thier life to God in this way they will be fearless because they have the faith that God will protect them. Another idea that may have been pondered by Crystal for choosing this title name is concerning witnessing to others. In order to witness, you also must be fearless. If you want to speak to others about God, you have to have complete confidence in yourself and know what you, personally believe. If you are fearless during ministry to others, they are more likely to believe your feelings as true and acquirable. Jesus himself was certainly fearless when it came to witnessing to others of all backgrounds. I believe Crystal Lewis feels the same way. I feel that my same thoughts probably entered her mind when trying to come up with a title for this albulm.
