Overview

FEARLESS is the first in a series of full length novels.

At the age of sixteen, Samantha Smith’s innocence was shattered in the blink of an eye. She kept the pain to herself for three years, burying her terrible secret beneath black clothes and black makeup, afraid to tell anyone. The price for her silence was the loss of her happiness and all of her friends.

After moving from stuffy Washington D.C. to laid back San Diego, where Samantha is now a freshman at San Diego University, she is determined to find new friends and reclaim her optimistic spirit. Having thrown away her goth exterior, she hopes that her new sunny look will heal her wounds.

Dreaming of adventure, she wishes to escape the humdrum middle-class existence that has repressed her fiery nature for as long as she can remember. But her parents are pressuring her to major in Accounting because it’s the safe thing to do. Samantha secretly considers ditching the business major to study Art, a choice that would horrify her parents if they ever found out.

When Samantha crosses paths with a troubled, handsome, tattoo-clad bad boy, her life spins into overdrive, and Samantha finds herself with more adventure than she ever dreamed possible.

Meet the Author

A lot of people ask me, "Why is a guy writing romance novels for women?" The answer is simple. Everyone falls in love. Even Men. Imagine that. ;-)

Of course, I'm half-joking, but also half-serious. Most men behave as if they have no emotions and certainly never--GASP!--talk about them. Men control their emotions. No man is a man if he lets his emotions get the best of him, right? Men conquer their emotions. Hardly.

Emotions are as much a part of a man's human experience as they are a woman's. I'm sure the specifics are as different as individual people can be. But if a man wants to have a complete experience as a human being, he must embrace his emotional nature and learn to understand it. What better way to explore emotions than to focus on stories centering around emotional experiences? Including the most intense emotional experience of all, love?

Having read a slew of New Adult romances in the past year, I noticed again and again that these novels dealt with the repressed pain of emotional scars and how love can help heal our wounds. Everyone has emotional scars. Women and men. Everyone hopes to heal, and a loving relationship can be a conduit for both partners to heal together.

My own stories feature characters who are on a quest to heal their pain. I believe this is a universal desire. It's my hope that readers of my stories may heal in some small way or gain some perspective regarding their own emotional wounds.

Samantha Smith moves across the US to attend college and reinvent herself. On her first day of college, her path crosses that of Adonis Manos. He is the model for her Life Drawing class. Her Art Professor insists that she shows promise regardless that her major is Accounting. He sets her up with a Mentor - Christos Adonis Mantos. They try to fight their attraction for each other, but they both break through the walls and share things about themselves that no one else knows. But Samantha is still hiding secrets. Will Christos still want her when he finds out the truth?

I'm not even sure where to start with Fearless. To say that I was impressed with Devon Hartford's writing would be an understatement. I have never read a Romance Novel written by a man and at first I thought it was odd that I was even reading it. But once I starting reading it, I didn't want to stop. There was so much in the novel that I felt like my senses were on overload. The vulnerability that he presented both Christos and Samantha with was shocking. Honestly, I can't believe that I have to wait until October to find out what happens next. But, you can bet that I will definitely be waiting.

    I really enjoyed this book.

The story was great, as were the characters, especially Christos - he is creative and intelligent, charming and caring, and as if that isn't enough, he is also very, very sexy.  Another two really interesting characters are Romeo and Kamiko.  The two of them made a good book even better with their banter and their awesome friendship, I loved them both.

And then there is Samantha ............ this girl had me grinding my teeth many times.  I could not for the life of me understand what Christos saw in her.  She was jealous and possessive when she had no right to be, she was also incredibly insecure and had no self esteem.  She pouted, she sulked. So, what did Christos see in her?  I have no idea.  The further I read the more I understood some of her issues - she had a traumatic two years behind her, a seemingly loveless home-life and her extreme loneliness could have had this effect on her - I am not sure though, as I have never been able to understand women like this.

I think this was the only gripe I had with the book - I would like to have seen what Christos sees in her - not the insecure and pouting Sam I saw.  I hope that Reckless - book 2 in the series, will give more insight into who Samantha is, and I am looking forward to meeting the real Sam.

Would I recommend this book?  Most definitely, it is a very good read and I loved it.

    Annoying

The main character was annoying. Her lack of control of her emotions didn't sit well with me.

The premise if the book was great, but it felt like the author was trying to do too much. I don't think I'm interested in the sequel.

    Meh...

The story was a good idea, but I could not get over how immature Sam was. Christos wasn't much better at times, but I really wanted to throat punch Sam at one point. Giant cliffhanger at the end so maybe I'll read the second one.

I cannot wait for the other two books to be release for this series. I started reading the book and could not put it down until I had completed it.

I am not even sure where to begin with this review. Devon Hartford you have delivered what you said you would. This contained romance, friendship and mystery of the past that haunts their dreams.

Samantha runs clear across country to start a fresh live. She became and outcast in high school because she refused give her powerful boyfriend something that she valued. That one night turned into a nightmare for her and she tries to run from that past.

Adonis is every woman's dream man. He is the typical playboy with a bad boy image. When Samantha meet him her life changed for the positive. Adonis made her face her past so that she could move forward for with her future. The only thing still holding her back is her parents.

I cannot wait to book two and three are released to see how Samantha develops as person and what path will she decided to take. Will she follow her heart?

He's wishy washy, she needs to get some (any!) confidence and the story line is implausible. Did not finish. Will not be reading this author again.

When I first heard about this book. I had to read it. I was very surprised at the depth of the female character. The empathy he has for his characters is so unique; not many men can pull that off.
It starts off with Samantha moving to San Diego for college. She meets Christo when he comes to her aid and later finds him in her nude model class. I would have loved to be a fly on that wall.
The book was written in a youthful and hip style that would be appealing for more savvy readers but I don’t think I would class this as Young Adult. There is a lot of Adult situations and it can get very steamy and hot.
What I took away from the book was that some times you have to let go and trust again. Trying to let a new person into an already battered psyche is very difficult but worth trying when you find the special someone. Fans of H.T. Night will love this series.
Fearless was a very surprising book and I would be very keen to read more in the series. I think Devon Hartford has a very prolific career ahead of him.

This is a first read for me by this Author. When I heard there was a male romance author I just had to take
a look. And wow was I surprised.
In this story we have Samantha Smith who has transplanted from Washington DC over to sunny  San Diego
California to college. She is taking Accounting classes at the urging of her parents. She decides however to
take a Life Art Class as one of her alternative classes.  On her way to school one more she is stuck in traffic
and some rude fat guy gets out and comes up to her window cursing and carrying on. Out of no where comes
this Sexy , blue eyed , tattooed , motor cycle riding man. What a dream. He stands up for her and punches the
fat guy out.  They talk very little but all her senses flair to life.
It’s at school and in the Life Art class she runs into the sexy stranger again as he is the class model in the
nude by the way. Samantha is carrying a lot of baggage about something in her past. As she learns more
about the mystery guy who she finds out is named Christos Adonis Manos and he is an artist who comes
from a line of huge artists. They get to know each other and things finally start to happen between them.
Samantha realizes Christos has some baggage also.  We also have Samantha’s new friends and new
best friend who help keep the story flowing and wow the laughs. I found myself laughing out loud quite a few
     times while reading.
Can the 2 of them work together and help each other through their scarred pasts?
Will they both finally give in and take that plunge by giving themselves to each other?
Well I am not going to giveaway the entire book so go grab your copy and get started !!
This book is very well written in my own honest opinion.  The story line flows very nicely its not trashy in any way. The romance is very steamy and slow to grow but when it does WOW HOT !!!
Yes this book is apart of a series and yes to find out more of the story you will need to grab the next book. \
    That’s how Series work !!!

I doubt the chic could be any more whiny and flaky

Seriously about half eay through the book I was so fed up with Sam's whiny needy attitude it killed whatever the story had going for it. She just comes off as pathetic... not hurt and broken while trying to recover from her pasr but just pathetic so I could not feel anything but annoyed with her and it really killed everything I had been enjoying about this story

    Luv!

Enjoyed the characters, the way the author made the characters so human and recognizable with respect to people in our own lives or that we have met. Just the right amount of human, action and romance. Have read the first 2 books, anxiously awaiting book 3.
