Meet the Author

You wouldn't think it to look at him, but H.K. Hillman is a Doctor. Not 'the' Doctor, just 'a' Doctor, and not the medical kind. The scientific kind.

This is why writing takes so long. He is obliged to check facts even in fiction. It's in the scientist blood.

Speaking of blood, most of his tales are intended to keep you awake at night, when you're alone in the dark. If this happens to you, please spare a thought for the author who has to think these things up.

Alone. In the dark.

This book, at 200(+ ), pages is a good mix of many creepy and unsettling short stories solely written by one author. These stories, tales, etc. have been collected here, in this volume, because they cannot be found elsewhere. In some cases, it would be especially difficult, since many of the author's publication sources have transcended into nonexistence. In this vein, the author created this collection so that the included stories could be read and enjoyed by a new audience and some old fans. And, now it can be found conveniently on your Nook. I wish that more literary artists would combine their older, popular, and out-of-print short stories into collections. It is a really good way to sample an author's work inexpensively on your Nook. This concept really worked for this author. Also, the brief intro before each of the stories was great. It added perspective. I found it quite interesting. The book was good mix of many different, but creepy short stories. I liked most of them. A few were amazing. Unfortunately, a couple of stories were just "ok". I will be reading more very soon. Recommended for older readers due to some extreme violence and bad language. -AvidReader
