Feast for Lawyers

by Sol Stein

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Stein, former CEO of now-defunct Stein and Day, one of the last independent American publishing houses operating in the 1980s, has written more than just another lawyer-bashing book. Although his book is colored by his bitterness over his particular case, Stein does provide a unique insider's account of the process and participants involved in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization cases. In contrast to several available treatises which more clinically explain the law, Stein details the personal and business effects of Chapter 11. His book contains much practical advice intended to help others survive it, and, if his description is accurate, portrays a system commonly misunderstood by businesspeople and in need of reform. This title should be recommended supplementary reading for business and law school courses and is a necessary purchase for libraries supporting these programs, as well as for general collections.-- Merlin Whiteman, Indiana Univ.
