When you mix Harry Potter & Twilight...

    ... you get Feather.

Estella heads off to college in the North Cascades of Washington State, where the college is surrounded by forestry. Like Mother Nature, Estella has a secret magical ability in which everything she touches flourishes and heals. Upon her first attendance to Professor Edgar's class - she is immediately drawn to him. As the relationship between Estella and Edgar progresses she learns about her past, about who she is, and of the present danger that threatens them all.

The setting and the feel of the story is similar to Twilight, and similarly enough it has moments when you are irritated and frustrated with the main character (in this case, Estella). But unlike Twilight, there isn't a three-way love triangle and there aren't any vampires or werewolves. I won't give away any specifics but there are also elements that will definitely remind readers of Harry Potter. Although the setting may remind readers of Twilight - that is as far as the similarities go.

Abra Ebner is a talented writer whose skill gives the story the sense of maturity and realism. I enjoyed the writing style and look forward to the sequel, Guardian.

    An Intriguing Paranormal Romance

After the preliminary first chapters, which were quite tedious, I found this book quite intriguing. I loved the unmistakable link between Elle and Edgar although I wished there would have been a lot more cat and mouse play before he told her the truth about their "past life" together if you can call it that. I liked how mysterious Edgar was in the beginning, but that could have played on for a bit longer. I found the book very entertaining. So entertaining I read it in one day. Would recommend to other fans of YA supernatural fiction.

I've never encountered anything so boring

I can honestly say I've never read anything so boring. The story was mediocre but the writing was so dull I had to force myself to read more than a few pages at a time. I skipped whole paragraphs and couldn't care less about the one dimensional characters. At times, I had to read sentences twice to grasp their meaning because it was unclear. And don't get me started on the typos and the stilted, unnatural dialog.

    Great Read!

Posted December 5, 2010, 12:17 PM EST: I highly recommending reading this book. The love between Elle and Edgar will touch anyone's heart. This story is not predictable and I really wasn't sure where it was going until the very end. I read a lot and one of the downfalls of being an avid reader is that it becomes easier to figure where a story is heading. Sometimes I won't even be halfway through a book and I'll know the ending. Feather kept me quessing and after I finished reading it, i purchased Guardian - book 2!

I don't think this book is similar with "Twilight series". This a very interesting book and I am dying to read them all.

    Good read - interesting storyline

It's a short book in comparison to others. I liked the preface/back story it's different and kept me interested. There are two more books that are also short to complete the trilogy. A lot of holes are left out but you still get a full story. Overall a good read in between my other books.

    Great

I have a hard time finding books that keep me interested and that arent totally predictable, or too short to really have a story. (This book is about 515 pages without the extra crap...) This one was wonderful. Its definetly a different kind of story than what is out there, but it is done well. I love to read and consider myself to have pretty good taste, but dont we all?!, and I have a good feeling that this series will do wonderful and go really far. Its worth the money and in the end you are supporting another person just trying to make a living doing what they love, and what most of us would kill to be able to do....write amazing books. Well done Feather, well done.

    Ammazingg!

I just finished reading all 3 books in the series. I was amazed when I put down the last book. I found myself fighting tears, these books help you feel the emotion right along side the characters. These books also give you hope that you find your very own edgar out there somewhere ;) I promise you will not be disappointed when you buy these! They are greatly written. The ending was wrote so well you could actually feel like the story was complete and finished. I cant help myself by saying I wish there could be one more short story written to tell about the aftermath of the third book. Buy this series! You'll love it :)
