I am a high school sophomore and I read this book for my research project. I was not a fan of this book at all. Although it was very informational, it was extremely boring and tedious. The author did a good job of getting a lot of information in, but she made it very confusing as she jumped back and forth between time frames. Also, the information wasn’t organized, it was spread throughout the book. The author made this book strictly informational and added nothing out of the ordinary. She only mentioned her experience with Feng Shui in a short section of the book. I would’ve liked that she put more of herself throughout the book so that it could be more relatable and exciting. In the section that she did mention her personal life, I found the information much more interesting because it really showed me how Feng Shui is employed in the everyday of a traditional Chinese household. I believe that a book without a story line isn’t enjoyable at all. One thing I did enjoy about the book was the diagrams and illustrations. These helped explain her writing and were visually pleasing to the eye. Also, the diagrams were well put together and elaborated on the concepts mentioned in the text. Finally, I feel that without outside sources to elaborate on this information, I wouldn’t have been able to fully understand this book. Overall I would not recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun and educational book. It is a manual more than anything else but, if you are looking for a strictly factual read, you might like it. Personally I like a story with adventure and a thick plot line.

I'm a high school sophomore and I read this book for my research project. This book is very useful for the beginner of Feng Shui to understand the frame of this whole theory like me. Because there are many pictures and diagrams in it. I choose this book because it classifies clearly so that I can get know of the knowledge and answer the  questions as well. Before I read this book, I only know a little about Feng Shui. After reading it, I gain a lot of  knowledge such as the whole history of Feng Shui, such as when and where is the origin of Feng Shui, the basis and the use of Feng Shui. On the other hand, the diagrams in the book help me to understand the knowledge a lot. Because the pictures can attract me to continue reading this book and some crabbed  theory. For example, without the diagram of tai-chi I can't  get know of that so quickly and clearly. After all, I believed this book is a good choice for beginner of Fneg Shui to read.

I am a high school sophomore who had to do a research project on Feng-Shui. I chose to read Eva Wong's book because I was looking for something that would not only give me a broader insight on how to incorporate Feng-Shui into everyday life but would also cover if not all but most of my historical questions. I personally thought this book wasn't hard to understand which was to my advantage because I was able to get a clearer understanding of the art of feng shui as well as a strong foundation for its practice. Many of the books I checked out from my local library were mainly how-to books which were a little frustrating until I came across Eva Wong's book which satisfied my main concern which was the history portion of Feng-Shui. With Feng Shui, you have to realize that it is an ancient art that is so much bigger than what you read in a book and reading this book is a great step in the right direction if you desire to learn about the traditional Chinese practice.

I am a high school sophomore, who had to do a research project on the art of Feng-Shui.   I chose this book because I thought it would be an easy read and answer all of my questions. After reading Eva Wong’s book I was proven correct, the book begins with giving a brief overview of the history of Feng-Shui and how it came to be. The book also has many pictures and diagrams that illustrate and explain the complicated concepts of Feng-Shui. The book has multiple examples of the different arrangements you can use when using Feng-Shui.  It also includes ways on how you can incorporate Feng-Shui apart of your life today.  This book shows you how to evaluate your surrounds and label them accordingly.  If you are looking to find a perfect location to build, this book can help you find balance in the right environment. I recommend this book to anyone who desires a quick understanding of Feng-Shui and with any possible interests in trying it out for themselves. If you are looking for a detailed history of Feng-Shui this is not your book, this book is merely a stepping stone into the world of this ancient practice.
