Overview

Almost any longtime baseball fan can tell you about Boston's Fenway Park, and how it is regarded as one the most fabled and revered stadiums in the game's history. The home field of the Red Sox was built in 1912, making it the oldest stadium still in use by Major League Baseball. Reading some of the names of players that have taken the field there will make anyone appreciate Fenway's historical significance: Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Walter Johnson, Billy Rogell, and today's superstars that perform there every day.

Fenway Saved, the new book from Bill Nowlin and Mike Ross, is a lovingly drawn portrait of Fenway Park, through words and over 150 never-before-published color photographs. Fenway Saved is a celebration of the park itself, especially the many quirks that have made impressions on millions of baseball fans for three generations. Along with the unique photos from Ross, many fresh historical insights also highlight Fenway Saved, making it a great resource for baseball lovers of all ages. Despite efforts to preserve this great cultural landmark, plans are predictably underway to replace it in the not-too-distant future. No matter what happens, the beautiful pictures featured in Fenway Saved will forever keep alive the memories of Fenway Park.
