Overview

It’s a new year for Katherine Luna. The seasons are changing, the leaves are falling, but some things stay the same. She is a Felinian, an ancient Egyptian breed of monster who feeds on the kiss of men, and life as a sophomore at Sleepy Hollow High is getting complicated. She has lost too much weight and her twenty-two-year-old body is weakening, along with her five senses. Hector, her close companion, is missing, her new boyfriend is acting strangely, and her decision to live like a normal teenage girl just isn’t working out. While managing the Felinian within, Kat begins to act on her primal impulses, pulling her to the brink of self-destruction. By the time Hector returns, she is almost too far gone to save. But as they search for balance, their bond grows stronger. That is, until disturbing questions surface about Hector’s relationship with Nola. In the ensuing chaos, Katherine makes a terrible mistake. Endless regret swiftly consumes her. Seeking answers, and with nowhere else to turn, Katherine faces her old enemy, the creepy cat lady, and soon discovers that her solution for normalcy may rest in her soulmate, Kafele, the mysterious man from freshman year. But the journey to reach him is far from easy. Because Kafele is the mate of another Felinian. A terrifying woman named The Lioness, who resides in a part of the world called the cradle of civilization. The Fertile Crescent.

Meet the Author

M. was born in 1978, in a suburb of Chicago and grew up in a forest-encroached neighborhood called Northwoods, where the embers of his imagination were kindled during solitary treks through the lonely wilderness. He wrote his first book, The Bullet That Never Stopped, on his mother's rickety green typewriter at the prudent age of eight and three-quarters. While dating his wife throughout college, M. wrote numerous stories, including novel-length addendums to her favorite books, giving her beloved characters new adventures. Writing novels was always a novelty for M., but now that he has created more literary stories and mainstream fiction, he is looking forward to a future in storytelling.
