Feuding Banjos: Bluegrass Banjo of the Southern Mountains

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Margaret Reges
As the title suggests, there are plenty of dueling banjos to be found on Feuding Banjos: Bluegrass Banjo of the Southern Mountains. This pleasant collection of 18 bluegrass melodies plucked, picked, and claw hammered on the banjo features performances by a star-studded cast of musicians. The melodies on this collection range from tunes like "Cripple Creek" or Dick Weissman's spirited rendition of "Old Joe Clark" to lesser-known tunes like the evocative "Saturday Night Banjo." Other than the occasional appearance of a fiddle or harmonica, the majority of this album is dedicated to banjo solos or duets only. This is the perfect complement to a lazy night by the wood stove or a long drive through the Ozarks.
