Meet the Author

Millay, Edna St. Vincent
(1892-1950) American writer. She was born in Rockland, Maine, and was raised by her mother, Cora Millay, after her parents divorced in 1900. Her first published poem, "Forest Trees," was published when she was 14Edna St. Vincent Millay's major efforts were devoted to lyric poetry in "A Few Figs from Thistles" (1920), "Second April" (1921), and "The Ballad of the Harp Weaver" (1922). Millay received the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1923.
