I can't believe this book was free. Over 800 pages of a fun excieting story. My only disappointed was when I went to buy the next book in the series, it's not available. The third book is for sale but not the second. How disappointing!

When i first got this book i wasnt sure i would like it but i was plesantly surpised even with it being a military based book with the characters and plots I LOVED IT matter of fact i loved it so much i bought the next two books in the series just to read more. I highly recommend this book to people that like a story that is packed full of action, has touching moments that will bring a tear to your eyes and characters that you can really get to love or hate. I couldnt put this book down once i started reading it it really is that good

The story is exciting but I didn't see the need for all the fowl language like the F word. It is in there way way to much. The story could have been written just as well with out the cuss words and the filthy words. If you don't mind that, then go ahead and read it.

Fast moving, suspenseful story. Good character development and well worth the time to read it.

I got this for my nook b/c it was free and the summary sounded interesting. I am so glad I did! There is military, suspense, romance, intrigue, drama, paranormal...so much all rolled into this amazing story. I did not want to put it down. I just bought the second book and can't wait to get back into the lives of these characters. Highly recommend this book.

I couldn't put this book down! This book brings to life the experiences of field operatives. As an operational support person I saw these people as assets, statistics. The Fey opened my eyes and allowed me to understand and FEEL. I wish I had read this book before spending 19 months in the Middle East.

This was a really difficult book to read and the story and characters were trite and superficial. There are so many grammatical errors (e.g., "..with you and I" ... learn something about objective vs. subjective pronouns) that, coupled with the totally jarring way it is inexplicably broken into short sections ("5 hours later", I mean really?!!!) I felt more like *I* was the one being beaten into submission in my attempt to slog through it. The superficiality extends throughout pretty much all aspects of the storytelling... oh, except for the love scenes between Alex and John; yeah, those are in excruciating details. And there are lots and lots of them. Unfortunately, they appear to be the only attempt to reach any level of emotional attachment to the characters. Half-way through the book, any of them could have died and I wouldn't have cared one bit. I would not recommend this story to anyone who has any emotional depth greater than a 13-yr old.

I was totally blown away by this book. It was incredible! This is a great read for those who like military action books. There is also romance and a little bit of paranormal.

This book, while I'm not completely finished reading, I feel compelled to write a review I've been smitten with reading this book since I started. I love the fact that while the book has a strong military component it's balanced with the routine of daily life and personal relationships. Ms. Christian-Hall does a fabulous job at providing details to each character, to a point that you feel that you know them too. Thank you for providing a book that is truly enjoyable to read! I must get back to my reading ;)

I was impressed. Although I'm not familiar with how the military works I still enjoyed this book. There was plenty of action in this book. I also enjoyed the family dynamics.

I downloaded this book while looking for free books for the nook and was simply blown away. I fell in love with the character, Alex, and the story. I bought the next two in the series as soon as I finished The Fey and cannot wait to see more in the series. Buy this book, it is amazing!

Couldn't put it down! Read almost 900 pages in 6 hours! Hooray for in depth characters you could love!

Curious how her "identical" twin could be a male...I haven't read far, but if the book consists of errors such as this, I don't know that I'll be reading much of it.

I loved reading this book. Although sometimes it was hard to keep track of the names and which part they played, it's worth your time to keep reading. Lots of twists and turns and surprises. Thanks for keeping me interested. K North Caroling

Not worth wasting time on even if it is free. Not researched, full of BS and an insult to a retired veteran of 35 years of service

I am 200 pages in and am very confused. She has an identical twin brother? He is dead. Or is he alive? I don't know because at one point his name changes. Or does it? I am truly lost as to what is going on. Skips around. Details change or are conflicting.

I decided to give this book a chance since there were so many good reviews. I was not impressed. The main character was not believable to me. She's supposed to be some kind of super spy, but she acts like a little girl. The only decent scene was when she was in the field simulation, but even that was ruined when after she was almost killed, they sit around drinking coffee like nothing important just happened. Um. Okay. Where was the discussion about what just happened? It was barely there. The discriptions of most scenes were lacking. There was not much imagery. Most of the time it was difficult to tell what was happening, except in the sex scenes, of course, which personally I could do without. Also, there were typos and grammatical errors that distracted me while I was attempting to read it. I gave up about midway into it, finding that I just didn't really care about the characters or what happened to them.

This was one of those "choose by title only" books for me. Without reading the synopsis, I dove right in having no idea what the subject matter matter was. I was totally enthralled and entranced by the book from beginning to end. I even began re-reading it right away!
